My dad is 74 years old and recently underwent a RP ( 8 wks ago). His PSA pre-surgery was 9.2 and Gleason was 7. Post-surgery Pathology showed Gleason 10 with no disease outside the prostate. Also, he had a bone scan and CT scan pre-surgery that were both negative for disease. He just had his first PSA test approx 10 days…

PSA up!. Should I worry.?
My PSA yesterday was 0.752, up from 0.24 3 months ago. I had a testosterone test done at the same time and it was up to 268 which is normal for my age. (81) It is 8 months since I finished IMRT and 9 months since my first and only 3 month Hormone injection. So with my testosterone levels back to normal the HT should no…

Hormone therapy before radiotherapy
I understand that HT is sometimes given for about 6 months before radiotherapy in order to shrink the tumor i.e to make it smaller so there is less of it to treat resulting in it getting more radiation. I had TURP before IMRT during which 30 grams of my prostate were removed. Since this would have reduced the size of my…

This is my first post on this board. I am a 55 year old man with a history of Hodgkins Lymphoma for which I was treated 29 years ago. Esperança ( a breeze of Hope)

Something to try
Now I will probably get reamed and abused for posting this and written off as a quack but this can't hurt to try and doesn't cost an arm and a leg, so bring it on. There is scientific proof for this and there is also a website that I won't post here unless someone wants to message me. I don't want people posting on the…

Second Opinion Questions
When people refer to "getting a second opinion" what are they typically referring to? Are they suggesting getting another biopsy, having a biopsy that has already been done read by a different pathologist, or getting a different opinion on recommended treatment? Do labs usually keep the biopsy slides? How long are they…

Veterans who served in Viet Nam
If you have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and served in Viet Nam you need to check with your local VA rep. If you were aboard a ship, check out the list of sites to see if…
