Update- my CT results, any thoughts??
So I had my appt for pre-op today. We also went over the CT scan results. The Dr. believes there are spots on my appendix, spleen, possibly on my colon, and bowel. He still says there is always a possibility that it will just be endometriosis, but they are preparing for the worst... that it is cancer and it has spread. I…

GRR! BAD NEWS AND I AM A BASKET CASE!!
Hi ladies. My needle biopsy from near my thyroid area came back suspicious for (whatever that medical term is for cancer). My doctor was shocked. He did say he was concerned about lymphoma, but it is not that. He is very stunned. He did another CA-125 today. The one I think it was last month was 12.8. Early May pet and ct…

IBS and raw veggies
Hi Ladies, I have had IBS for several years. Compared to many people, my symptoms are mild. However, the more frequently I eat salads and other fresh raw veggies, the more often I experience diarrhea. Does anyone else have this problem? I am seriously considering purchasing a Ninja for Vitamix blender. I have read that it…

Bowel obstruction
Has anyone had surgery for a bowel obstruction? My mum has one and they aren't sure whether it is scar tissue or not? She is getting tightness in her chest I think it's because the gases and fluids can't escape. If anyone can shed some light that would be very helpful. Tali

I am getting apprehensive
about my first pet scan. I have had at least 4 ct scans which are not that bad. I am most worried about being in a tunnel in the dark. I was told to fast for 6 hours before and drink only water. I read somewhere not to exercise vigorously which is never a problem in my life but I do go to yoga on that day. I think I'll…

Could it not be ascites?
Symptoms of bloating (constant) up to rib cage and pain after eating. Does anyone know if it could be something else like an ulcer? I had been eating lots of beans which upset my stomach immensely so I wonder if that could have caused an ulcer? Thanks

Mom's birthday party
I had a great day yesterday. It was just what I needed. I woke up and did not really feel like starting the day because I knew I had a lot of work ahead of me. I tend to get a little ambitious with the menu when I have a party. I kissed my mom and wished her a happy birthday, then headed to the kitchen to began preparing…

I am not getting good news
Hi Ladies, had a CT scan 3 weeks agao while in hospital, although they didn't use the IV contrast they were checking for my hernia. Anyway, it showed my tumors are growing, but I knew that because I can actually feel them getting larger. Been thru Carboplatin alone & it did nothing this last time. Saw onc. last week, now…

Partial Obstruction of the Small Intestine due to Surgery Adhesions - have you had this? How did yo
I've been in the hospital twice in less than a month because of a partial obstruction of my small intestine due to surgery adhesions (scarring). The main reason why I ended up in the hospital both times was because the abdominal pain would not stop (a crampy pain that came in waves every couple of minutes) and the pain and…

Not the happiest camper...
My count doubled from 23 to 46 so now I will be scheduled for a ct scan. The onc told me I would have a petscan but the NP said the ct is better(?). I took it well; I wasn't really surprised. I only got emotional when I told her I hate the thought of putting family and friends "through it" again. The onc said she's known…

Needle biopsy today
Hi Ladies, I posted a few weeks ago that I had four spots, one near my thyroid, and 3 near my diaphram area light up during an early May pet scan. My oncologist doesn't think it's related to the OVCA. However, he sent me to a specialist to have the needle biopsy done today. My CA-125 three weeks ago was still 12.8, pet and…

On the lighter side of things....just wondering how many of you when your hair started growing back had curly hair. I have never had curly hair in my life! The Omentum and weight gain- (New thread)
I saw that new posts were added to this thread from 2010, so decided to start a new one. My omentum was also removed during my debulking surgery in March 2010. I started on maintenance chemo in May of 2011, which has been ongoing. When my CA125 climbed to 540, even with chemo, the Dr. ordered a CT Scan. The results were…

CA125 test
I'd like to set the record straight on the CA125 test from my point of view ... obviously! Some women who are diagnosed with ovarian/primary peritoneal cancer at a late stage have a normal CA125 reading throughout the course of their treatment. This was the case with me and remains the case. However, if the CA125 reading…

Do night sweats with ovarian cysts mean cancer??
I have a minimally septated complex cyst on each ovary. I started having pain, no swelling, in my underarm and breast last week. Tonight I woke up with night sweats. I keep thinking it is spreading and that I have Lymphoma now. Do these symptoms indicate cancer most likely, or has anyone experieinced these just from having…
