Update Extra Ovarian Primary Peritoneal
Just wanted to let everyone know that after my 1st session of chemo (1 months worth, I'm going weekly), my new CA-125 count was 13.4! I'm of course thrilled and undergoing my 2nd session now. I was wondering if anyone out there has experienced this and how many more session of chemo did you incur? I'm taking…

Painful after effects of chemo
I was operated on for ovarian cancer in 1995. I had 6 months of carbo and taxol. I noticed at about the 4th treatment, discomfort in my side and leg. It is still with me. There is also pain in my back. I have done the bone scan, Catscans, MRI etc. and tumor marker is at 17 so feel confident this is not a reoccurrence since…

Sweiss
Hi. How did you do? I know that you might not get home for a couple of more days. I got to go home one day early! The tumor was the size of a cantalope, my dr took a picture. It was a teratoma with borderline cells. He did a staging, but does not expect to find any more cancer. I should be able to keep the other…

take betulinic acid before taxol, effective natural
it comes from birch bark and I think one kind of nut hull. Inactivates tumor mitochondria (powerhouses) and should negate chemo resistance. In the test tube at least, taxol kills only %50 of cells, but betulinic acid + taxol kills %100 percent. C-statin, made from bindweed, is 100x more antiangiogenic than shark cartilage.…

I am new to this area. I am glad this is here. I am getting taxol and carboplatin every three weeks. I have had three treatments with three more to go. Each of my treatment side effects have been different. This cycle the fatigue is unbeliveable. Did anyone else have a similar experience?

42 YR OLD OVARIAN CANCER SURVIVOR ASKS WHAT NOW?
I was diagnosed at age 39 with Stage IIIA. Been in remission since 7/00, and my CA125 has been 10-14 ever since, so my prognosis looks good. BUT, I keep saying to myself: "What now?" I have a boring job, and life seems meaningless. I am married, and my husband and I are on different work schedules. We have no children…

What to Bring to Hospital
Staging procedure next week. I am a little crazy about it, so I am focusing my energy on packing. I would love any ideas on "must haves" that I may not have thought about. Anything else? Here are some of the things that I came up with: big soft towel/washcloth bathroom sundries favorite pillow, blanket heating pad…

reoccuring ovarian cancer
I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in Febr. '92. I have had 4 rounds of chemotherapy, currently on Tamoxifen. Just took my last radiation treatment. My first chemo made me sick, others weren't quite so bad. Doxil did make me break out with a rash. So far I'm hanging in.

Ascites fluid accumulation
For the first time since I orginally was diagosed, I have had a build up of fluid. In the past Doxil kept it under control. This time Doxil did not work as quickly as in the past. Build up was extremely painful until I had paracentisis (removal of 2 liters) I am now on low dose weekly taxil. Anyone have a similar problem,…

Recently diagnosed with Extra Ovarian Primary Peritoneal
Was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer, however, after surgery which was a complete hysterectomy and removal of omentum, it was concluded I had extra ovarian primary peritoneal. I'm finding that it is not as rare as I originally thought. I'm 6 weeks post surgery and starting my 3rd session of chemo. Would love to hear from…
