Urine testing
I've had higher (+2) leukocyte esterase and wbc (10-20) with urine tests the last several times. I did have one cultured and no bacteria in urine. Nobody seems concerned when I ask. Although, when I look it up I see can mean infection which I don't have or could be sign of kidney or bladder cancer. Anyone have any…

KIDNEY DISEASE!
OK, I put that in shouting-caps, because that's how the team reacts at the imagining center whenever I go there for a CT with and without contrast. They have my bloodwork, but as far as they are concerned? I have kidney disease, they are freaked, and the radiologist must be there, which impacts scheduling times. As far as…

Waiting in secret
I am a new member to the board, but I have not received a diagnosis yet. I was diagnosed with my first kidney stone 10 days before my wedding. I had complained about pain in my side for months leading up to my wedding, but my GP at the time told me that I must have pulled a muscle or some other silly conclusion. It was…

New diagnosis, lots of questions
Hi, I was diagnosed with Lupus in June and through the bloodwork, it was found that there was a lesion on the liver. An Ultrasound and MRI revealed that the liver lesion wasn't an issue, but they found a tumor on the kidney that is a problem. They belive it is RCC and measures 3.4cm by 3cm. My gastro is referring me to a…

Have been gone for awhile-latest CT shows a 3mm lung nodule
Have been well since I was diagnosed with RCC back in Dec 2016. I was retired, but went back to work after my Right kidney was removed Jan 2017, so I have been pretty busy. CT scan yesterday shows a 3mm lung nodule. Five months ago when I had a CT, the nodule was only 2mm. So, it has changed. I called for my results but…

Uncle Ned / Need advice
Hi, all - Uncle Ned will be having dinner with me. YAY! It's too hot to heat up the kitchen by cooking, so take-away pizza is sounding really good right now. Maybe we'll get a movie and eat in front of the TV instead of doing the dining room dinner thing. Which makes me wonder... After not drinking beer in decades, I…

Test before treatment
What test would you want before treatment to establish a baseline and why would you want such test? I am going to have some form of treatment for a small tumor sooner or later (probably sooner) and would like to know as much as I can before hand in order to know where I stand after. Thanks Perry

Partial, Radical, Biopsy?
Hi I am writing on behalf of my wife. She is 46. She was diagnosed with a 6 cm tumor on left kidney. MRI seems to indicate RCC. No indications of spread, and stage 1B as near as can be told with MRI & CT Scan. We have seen two urologic oncologists at 2 different hospitals (both hospitals have stellar reps, one of them is…

Question on nausea
Hi all, I’ve got a 4.1 cm mass on the top of my kidney that I am scheduled to have removed in less than two weeks via robotic surgery. My outlook in that regards is likely quite good and while I am not looking forward to the surgery, I am not getting all that anxious about it And consider myself lucky that it was caught…

Just finished up at the Drs for my scan results. Uncle NED stopped by for a visit. I am so blessed and very thankful!!!! I was surprised when the Dr said he would see me in a year. I thought I would go in another 6 months then if all clear go yearly. GFR was 100 and creatinine was .9. The Dr mentioned losing 20 more lbs,…

Had to Flip a Coin
I had to flip a coin to see which forum I would make my first post. Kidney won. While battling Sepsis from a prostate biopsy in April a Bosniak 4 tumor was found on my right kidney with a Pelvic CT Scan. The good news is the tumor is < 3cm and the prostate cancer appears to be localized with all testing/results thus far.…

I ended up going to ER mid June with seizures, they did a cat scan and found a single brain met in my parietal lobe. Began on Dex methasone to keep the swelling down and with no more seizures was able to to go and have SBR in 5 gy in one sitting. Pretty amazing technology. So for now, I guess this dead tissue will live in…

Anyone have low alk phosphate? I had blood work done for possible food allergies and IBS and my blood work came back good (no food allergies) but low alk phosphate... Just weird. Wondering if it has something to do with my partial neph or rcc has come back haha! You know the paranoia of metastasis. Stephanie

Done for a Year!
Just got back from Stanford, where I was treated for my RCC. All's well. But, of course, after getting the chest x-ray results and the CT results, we knew that. I guess I have to be a lot better since I've made the following progression in terms of who sees me: At six months, the surgeon handled the appointment. At one…

definition of invincible
So, my dad told us yesterday that he has kidney cancer. I don’t think I’ve ever cried as hard as I did when he let is know what was going on. My dad is a 47-year-old geek, a non-smoker, non-drinker, a relatively healthy guy who shouldn’t be under the weight of all of this. At first, he thought it was kidney stones, and…

Status is Quo
I woke up this morning to see that he results of my annual CT scan were sitting in my online account at the hospital. Logged in to check and the note from the surgeon said, “CT is Fine. Good news.” A bit of an understatement as at 5AM, I was doing cartwheels.

new mets
Hi everyone, I am writing this on behalf of Abunai. On Tuesday, he started having weakness with the left side of his body, with his memory, and concentration. We were instructed to go to the ER. After a CT and then an MRI, we were told he has about 20 tumors in his brain. Up until this point, there had never been any sign…

Genetic tests are in...
And it's all negative.... Not that I wanted it to be postiive for anything (they tested for 64 things based on personal and family history). But I was hoping for some answers, especially since my younger sister also has a kidney lesion. The geneticist thinks it may be something they don't have a test for yet so she wants…
