Just Starting The Fight
I am a 35 year old male who is just starting the fight against kidney cancer. Back in January 2013, I noticed a small little bump, almost like a bug bite, on the side of my stomach just under the skin. I did not like it and wanted it removed and went to 3 doctors...all of them said it was a harmless lipoma and I should…

Fatigue Post-Neprectomy
It's been on my mind a great deal. Last year before my tumor was found, I was suffering from fatigue and I'd say even some depression for quite a few months. After the tumor was found, I was wondering if the tumor wasn't the culprit. I'd just been thinking it was the normal way to feel at 50. Since I've had the tumor…

The nurses were great and came in and sang Happy Birthday to him. One of them was from Scotland and when she was done singing she started to tell him…

Evening all, I am just sitting here thinking and I was wondering what changes you made to your diets after surgery/treatment? Creatinine 1.6 Bun 22 one yr after left kidney and mass removal
Can't believe it has been a year since my husband found out he had a 7.5cm mass, and subsequently a few weeks later had the mass and his left kidney removed, which they determined was cancerous, but thankfully, no spreading to other organs. We just went for his 1 year CT Scan w/contrast. After drinking the wonderful fluid,…

First Blood Tests Post Everolimus Good News
I had my first blood tests after being on everolimus (or placebo) since starting the drug trial 6 weeks ago. Everything was normal. Before the blood tests I was pretty sure I was on the real drug and not placebo. All the tests were so normal, that I'm less certain now. My creatinine had dropped down to 1.53. It was 1.9…

BP. Sitting verses Standing
This is something Texas-Wedge and I talked about a month ago. Why my Nephrologist had me taking my blood pressure setting and then standing. Your BP drops when you stand up because of the blood rushing to your feet when you stand. Your pulse will quicken at the same time to try to compensate for the BP dropping. What our…
