e-mails
I don't understand all the facets of this web-site. The one thing I'd like to know is: How do I put my e-mail address out there so if someone would like to get a hold of me through a personal e-mail; they could? I'm a slow study but a willing study. Tambo

RCC and Re occurrence new member
Hi my name is Joann, I recently had my right kidney removed last August 2011. I am 43 years and was devastated to learn that I had a 10 by 14 cm tumor in my kidney. It was a stage 2 (due to the size) grade 1. My oncologist said it is 20% chance of re-occurrence and my urologist said 5-15%. As seen most post they both said…

Opinions on High Protein Diets
Hey Everyone, I've been reading all these posts about how healthy everyone is eating. I have been the exact opposite. Since my cancer surgery, I have gained weight and can't seem to get a handle on it. I keep thinking that I received a second chance and should take better care of myself, but I think I have been too…

Are natural remedies snake oil or promising
I have been online reading a lot about diet, exercise, and other changes I can make to help my body become more cancer-proof. I have already read some of your posts about an alkaline diet and other research. Then there are those of you who are living life as usual but in moderation. I have seen articles online about…

all members
All I want to say is that I know some people are either intimated, or feel like they are breaking into a "click" of some sort on this forum. (I did). Please don't. Interact and share your perspectives. As I have recently read, only 3% of cancers are kidney cancers. We are a select group. All supportive. Pulling for each…

Released from Hospital Yesterday
Well, it’s out. One kidney less. My road to recovery is a rough one. I’ve had surgeries before, but never on my ‘innards.’ My cousin the nurse, assures me I’m not a wuss. It’s a difficult procedure because they not only remove an organ, but they stretch others and readjust them, making recovery a bit more difficult. Also,…

Newbie awaiting operation...
Hi! I had my cancer diagnosed incidentally. I had severe abdominal pain. Went to my doctor. He ordered a CT scan on9/23/11. Said I had diverticulitis so severe and he said it was infected. Gave me some antibiotics to clear it up. Told me to come back in a few days for a couple of 'things' on the CT scan - nothing to worry…

Are there any chromophobe RCC that have taken Torisel out there? Or any other chromophobe out there
I have recurrent chromophobe RCC on my liver and in my bones. I was wondering if there was anyone else on this site who has chromophobe and has taken Torisel. I just finished Sutent (two months) and it did not work for me sadly. I am hoping the Torisel works and buys me some more time.

The Value Meal
I'm sure I'm not just imagining it, that these threads are seeing an influx of younger, intelligent and vociferous newcomers - you know who you are :-) Quite a few here are given to doing a spot or two of research and we can constitute a significant lobby if we all keep asking the medical authorities the right questions…
