Another "Newbie"
I've been following this board daily for a couple months now, and feel it's time I introduce myself. Actually, I tried to last week, and after writing a rather lengthy review of my health history, my message just seemed to disappear. I'm determined to try again, as I'm really impressed with the members on this board, and…

Cancer Centers. Are they worth it?
I'm currently going through what started as head and neck cancer in 2006. Now it has spread throughout my body. My doctors have told me that I have been though 5 treatments and they really have not put a dent in it so more than likely a sixth treatment won't help. Basically they are saying sorry there is nothing else that…

super high calorie shake that can pass through PEG tube
I thought I would share the recipe I have used to keep my husband’s weight stable during chemo/radiation. He started at 160 lbs., lost 5 lbs. after the first two weeks of treatment, then ended treatment three days ago at 160 lbs. We were told he would lose lots of weight, so I am pleased to say that doesn't have to happen.…

Post treatment, how long does it take to feel good?
My husband finished 8 weeks of chemo, and 8 weeks of radiation with chemo about 2 weeks ago (diagnosed with stage IV tonsil cancer). Cyberknife and NPC
My doctor told me today that I need to keep my options open to the future; he thinks that Cyberknife would benefit me. They have also told me for the passed 3 years now that I need to get back on more Chemo, I can’t understand why. For the passed 3 years all the PET scans show an area in my left nasal that might or might…

Lack of Taste and Swelling, Dry Tongue
I have noticed that the feeling of dehydration (swollen tongue, dry mouth and blah feeling) along with loss (change) of taste is a common theme for those that have had chemo and\or radiation. Is anyone else experiencing the same problems that have only had surgery? I had my 4th surgery on my tongue, the last bringing a…
