Depression and Anxiety following end of treatment
I am new to the discussion boards. I was diagnosed with a cT3b Stage III rectal tumor in August of last year. I completed four months of adjuvant treatment which included chemo and one week of short course radiation. My resection was in January 2021 and I had my reversal at the end of February 2021. I am currently in…

Elevated CEA with clean scans I came to this forum because I am perplexed with my CEA results. My cancer history and CEA results are shown below. My CEA has always been normal for the last four years. Suddenly last week, it was measured at 15.6 and today (after 5 days) at 17.3 ! It seems to be going up by multiple points…

Back in the thick of things - cancer in spine and lungs
And so I'm back in full treatment, but need some reminders. It's been a while. I just (as in Friday) started back in chemo - this time just the Irinetocan and Avastin (no 5FU). I am still extremely weak 3 days later. Is this normal? I keep just dozing off, and anything I do is too much. I'd love to get on my bike, but am…

Question about symptoms?
Hi I'm new here and I'm wondering if anyone has had hip and pelvis pain as a top symptom before being diagnosed with colorectal cancer. My health has been slowly declining for over 2 years I was sent to a rheumatologist last year and he diagnosed me with undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease which basically…

Sad news about foxy
While working to gather information about Ron50 (still no word back from his son) I read several posts from/about foxy. She and Ron had received the same chemo treatment back in the 1990s (5fu and levamisol). Levamisol was later banned for human use in many countries, including the United States, due to its adverse…

Are we getting close to the end?
I'm new to this but I need someone to either reassure me that things could get better or its time to prepare for losing my husband. My husband was diagnosed on March 5, 2018 with stage 3 rectal cancer and he did radiatin and chemo prior to surgery to remove rectal tumor and lymph nodes. Surgery was in August and the…

NED
Hello all - I have hesitated to post this for a bit, but saw my surgeon at the end of April for an exam prior to scheduled surgery to remove what was left of my tumor following chemo and chemo radiation. Did the exam and flex sigmoidoscopy and he said that I had a "complete clinical response" and that the tumor appeared to…

I just had the bandages removed from my port. I will start 5FU in a fanny pack next Monday. Will go 5 days of chemo and radiation, weekends off, and that for 5 weeks. Then dr says hopeful that my stage 2 rectal tumor will be small and easily removed by surgery. So I guess I'm looking at a kinda crappy summer but a sunny…

39 years is a long time
39 years is a long time but that's how long I simply drifted threw life never taking the time to appreciate my dad and just had good I had it . Knowing that he was always there to help me or bail me out of trouble or just to listen to me. Become so common in that time that I just assumed he would always be there . And…
