CT AND PET RESULTS TOMORROW
I hate the nervousness of waiting to hear results. Need a miracle. CEA is over 400.

wondering if I will ever wake from this nightmare?
April of 2013, i was diagnosed with Stage3b colorectal cancer. Went through the surgery, port placement, radiation, attempted chemo, but it was platelets too fast (i have ITP, platelet count was watched closely). In July, i was admitted to hospital, for what they thought was internal bleeding, my potassium levels was…

Experiences with Medicare and Home Hospice?
Good Afternoon Everyone, Mom is being admitted again to the hospital because her CEA is off the chart and she basically was shaking/almost falling for days. She has said to me that she feels like her mind and body are not connected. She also says she feels like "someone" is touching her on her arm. This has made me very…

I'm so thankful
I'm so thankful for all the advances in cancer treatment without which I would have missed so much these past 7 years. I have serious hockey fever right now with the Kings so close to winning their 2nd Stanley Cup. I've been a fan for 30 years and without the new treatments, my great doctors, and this board's support,…

I've just had my first treatment and had RLS/WED before I began. It is so abd right now that I am considering stopping treatment. This is actually driving me insane. Any uggestions? I take .25 mg of Mirapex right now and the RLS used to be well controlled.

Weekend Adventures?
My son takes the SAT at 7:30 in the morning (what kind of psycho plans a test arrival at 7:30 on a Saturday?) and needs a ride since we couldn't find a local location. Other than that, just me sipping on some almond milk by the garden and enjoying Mr. Sunshine (from under a really big hat!).

Treatment update
I am getting a needle biopsy on 6/18 (I know Laz I was really against it but I want to have extensive DNA testing done on a current sample) followed by y90 mapping on 6/19. I will have the actual y90 treatment on 7/3. Then I fly to Seattle to meet with Dr. Lin on 7/15 so he can work with my oncologist on ADAPT (XCEL)…

A flat polyp
Hi there, Anyone had experience with a flat polyp? My husband had his second colonoscopy to see what the first doctor saw and it is a 'flat polyp'. His CT scan is clear and the first set of biopsies that the other doctor took, were benign. This doctor took more biopsies but was not able to remove it - not sure why - but…

CEA blahs
Well, I've been getting "under 1.0" CEA since my last surgery in February 2014, testing on a monthly basis. Went in for a test this morning and it came back as 2.0. Nothing to do except wait until next month and see if it goes up again or possibly goes down... I know that under 3.0 is normal. However, in my case CEA is…

Anyone ever tried Chaga Mushroom Tea?
While visiting my brother in MA last weekend, my nephew who works on an organic farm in VT gave us a Chaga Mushroom cut from a birch tree. I have been reading about it and how to make tea from it. It is an old remedy from Russia and China. I'm going to try it myself and see if my husband will consider it. I guess it can't…

Any feedback appreciated
HI everyone, this is a wonderful network. I've been reading just to learn, but I still have questions. Unfortunately, all I have from my biopsy is pretty 'medical' and I have no clue what to make of it. My GI doctor at first said it was "of benign appearance" but imagine her and my surprise when it came back with "invasive…

I took my lunch today to drop in and read posts. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will post soon as I go in for my monthly CEA test…

Life is funny. When I was doing treatment I just wanted my life saved. Now that I seem to be ok, I have to rebuild that life from the ruins. Started working part time in April, but I cant seem to be able to continue. The pain from thr radiation in my hips and lower back is so bad at the end of the day that it takes 3-4…
