Share a happy memory
Hi gang! It's been a sad time for all of us on the forum. A lot of losses, of people who meant a great deal to us, even if we knew them only in the virtual world. I lost a FB cancer friend this week as well...dead of breast cancer at the age of 41. Sometimes I just want to turn back the clock, and think of happier things.…

They have been watching it ever since. It seems to be growing slowly, but this last time they wanted an MRI instead of a CT scan. I go back…

Hard time with my daughter.
Hi Everyone, Yesterday something has changed in me. I just finished a long nasty divorce. We lost everything we made with 20 years of hard work, but I'm ok with that, because I started a new life and despite of my cancer I'm very happy. During and after the divorce my ex has alienated my 15 year old daughter from me with…

Do I dare say "Celebrate"?
What have any of you done to celebrate your end of treatment, clear scans, news of NED, etc? My husband just finished his 12 rounds of chemo. We want to do something really special to celebrate, like a trip or a party. He originally thought he wanted a belated birthday party (he turned 60 during treatment) but now thinks…

Starting Avastin and have some concerns
HI folks, Well my scan results weren't as good as I hoped even though I am feeling the best I have in a very long time. This is so depressing. Dr has decided I need to switch from Vectibix to Avastin.. Everything she told me and I have read about Avastin seems rather scary.. I am not sure I can survive a cardiac incident…

Don't know what's going on with me...
I really don't know what has been going on with me lately. Up until my colostomy reversal surgery June 17th, I was doing great, had a positive attitude, and was looking forward to the reversal. Tomorrow it will be five weeks since the surgery, and I still haven't recovered. Right from the week of surgery, my abdominal area…

newly diagnosed w/ rectal cancer @ 37 y.o, advice needed xeloda v 5FU
Hi, I’ve been a long-time lurker on cancer forums due to my dad's prostate cancer. The forum advice and personal stories really helped me as I was with my dad every step of the way as he tried every treatment possible. Unfortunately, he passed on May 8th after a long and tough cancer battle. Now it’s my turn. During my…

Glossary of Treatments and Terms
HI, all. I thought it would be a good resource for this board to have a section where users could explain the different treatments we can have, what they are and where to obtain them, and when in the course of treatment they are used. For instance, what is TACE? What is HIPEC? What are all of the different chemo drugs out…
