Taxol Failed ...
After 13 1/2 months of Taxol, it failed. I had a couple of blood clots from the lungs on Sunday night. I called my oncologist's nurse, yesterday and they order a ct scan that had stronger dye. Though they could not find anything in the pulmonary arteries, they did find progression in the right hilar mass and the right…

Celebratory coffee drink the size of my head can only mean one thing...
I've just returned from my annual mammogram and hearing those beautiful words from the radiologist: "Everything looks good, see you next year"! So I'm celebrating in my usual way, for those of you who remember from past years: with an extra large Dark Chocolate Iced Blended Mocha from Coffee Bean. 700 calories, according…

Breaking out of the "victim" mode
I'm brand new to this site and I really need some input to how everyone else is dealing with life after cancer. First I'd like to share a little of what my life has been like the past 4 years. In November 2010 my husband of 27 years died unexpectedly, in 2011 I went through bankruptcy and in 2012 was diagnosed with breast…

Reconstruction Woes...
One year ago I had my mastectomy...followed by another surgery to get clear margins. After having radiation, my tissue expander moved out of place due to the radiated tissue encapsulating the expander. That surgery was in December to re-position a new expander. Now, four months later, my incision line has open sores that…

NEW BRA AFTER LUMPECTOMY
Hi, Ladies: Finished my radiation! Started the Anostrozole about 2 weeks ago. Noticing a few things, but just trying to grin and bear it till the so-called 5 or 6 month mark when everything is supposed to mellow out. Right now, I'm having trouble with my bras. Obviously, the one side does not fit the same as the other…

Yikes! My Mother-of the-Bride dress...
Well, this is what happens when you buy the dress 4 months before the event, your thyroid TSH is on a mad rollercoaster ride, you are on steroids and you are just out of shape (lol)...my dress no longer fit. Yikes! I gained about 5 lbs which all went to my derriere (as per usual) and the dress had absolutely no extra room…

New Game - Beautiful Words
Beautiful/Healing Words This is a 'game' I just thought of but thought it might be fun. One word or a short phrase that you find as a positive, gives you support/healing/good feelings. Doesn't matter where they come from - just that they make you feel good. Perhaps a bit of explaination after if it seems right to you but…
