Some good news to share
I had called the nurse at my surgeons office earlier to talk about how I am still soooo congested in my lungs from the anesthesia, and my throat still hurts from the intubation and asked if I should be concerned. She said she would talk to the dr about it and call me back. Well she called back to say just keep taking…

Ten Years of Tamoxifen Better?
This news was popping up on my home page today. I often wonder if part of why I am still here is my oncologist's decision to keep me on tamoxifen a little longer (7 years)--especially since I was Stage 3. Back then, there were no real guidelines about what to do (1987). Interesting...stay tuned!…

Mammogram
Hi ladies I was wondering if everyone who had breast cancer surgery have had a follow up mammogram within the first 6 months. I thought I have heard that most everyone has had their 1st one within 6 months of surgery. The reason I am asking is my dr told me they do not do the first one until a year after surgery. This…

Pathology reports are in,bad news is there is a regrowth in my brain. Good news is it is still only one spot. The rest of me still looks good, blood work is all good. the spot that is being treated is right next to the tumor that was removed in June. The original tumor site is clear, so the docs don't feel like it is…

November 27 update
The small spots first seen the end of March (and too small for follow-up testing) have disappeared, which is a puzzle to the DR. There are all sorts of possibilities in regard to what they were/are, based on our discussions in March and again in early August. What remain behind are even smaller bits, which are…

New Meds
I visited with my oncologist today. We went over the results of the scan. She was just as happy as me. We talked about my hip and a new bump that appeared on the top side of my left foot. Gotta get back with the ortho doc and have him figure out what is going on with both issues. Then she asked about the Arimidex. I almost…

Hi ladies. I hope everyone is doing ok. I have not checked in for awhile so I am checking in. I have been on arimidex since Oct 10th of this year. UPDATE--> Using Cancer for Sympathy. Really?
Hi all - I had mixed feeling about posting this but I need to vent. Does any of you have any family member who uses YOUR situation so he/she can get sympathy from people? I have a story. This may be controversial as many of you are mothers and probably in a different situation than mine: you have loving relationships with…

Hi beautiful ladies (and gentlemen), Hope everyone is doing well and feeling at peace. I had a question and was curious to know if any of you knew the answer. Do you know if the statistics for getting gynecologic cancers - such as uterine- have been recorded to specify timing? For examples, are the risks higher while…
