Taxotere
Hello ladies. I talked today to a spokesperson for the people who make Taxotere. I found out some interesting things. I wanted basically to find out how long these side effects from the Taxotere were going to last. The back pain they have no information on. Studies were not carried out past treatment. The numbness and…

Some Test Results
Hi everyone. I have some of my results back from MRI. Good & bad news. Most of the tumors in spine are shrinking & showing good signs of healing taking place. One in neck is not & is now pressing on spinal cord - hence the pain I have been experiencing. He doesn't know why nearly all the other tumors are responding & this…

hi guys! I'm new to this but i wanted to sent an encouraging note to everyone going through treatment. I had a mastectomy almost 4 years ago then had chemo, and then a stem-cell transplant. I am now on the other side, I have my life back again. I'm finishing up my degree, working, and most important, taking care of my…

What is the deal with men?!
Ok Ladies, this is going to be a huge "vent fest " I need to vent off before I bury my husband in a snow bank until the spring thaw. You cant live with them, yet it is against the law to keep them chained up in the shed!! I think i need to start a petition to change that law! Ok, just because I am not working at the…

Anyone know about estring risks - I'm new to the group and just finishing chemo
Dear all, This is my first message. I've just been through lumpectomy, lymph node dissection and four courses of AC; next I start radiation and tamoxafin. I used the estring before breast cancer and it was great for menopausal vaginal dryness. Now I'm scared. My oncologist says no extra estrogen. But my breast surgeon and…

We have come so far
I've just been re-reading some early posts from September/October/November. Really interesting some of us who were newcomers then are old hands now & dishing out advice to anyone whether they want it or not. But what comes through is how much we have all learned through our own experience & others. I truly believe…

My name is Katie I am a survivor of about 6 years. I had left masectomy in 94 at age 38. I did 6 months of chemo but was lucky and didn't have to do any radiation. question about Tamoxifen?
Hey ladies! I have been on Tamoxifen for a year now and have gained so much weight. Has anyone else had this problem? I have been trying to lose some weight and it is so hard. Path report
Ladies. I got my path report back this morning. My surgeon's office called me to let me know. He is a wonderful man, can't help but love him. He takes such good care of me. Now if only I could find one like that in real life. Anyway, the path report is NEGATIVE for any malignancy. All the prayers, lighting of candles,…

Would you like to be a vegetarian?
Hi, Catherine here. Have you ever heard that breast cancer patients had better give up some foods like milk, all kinds of meats(including pork, beef, chicken, duck, goose, fish) and eggs? Some reports indicated that meat, egg and milk are the 3 "killers" for cancer patients. If avoid eating the aboves, it is said that…

Some Support Needed
Just got back from the oncologist visit. Results are not too positive. Apparantly my protein markers are starting to rise and there are elevated liver enzymes. So he is sending me for another MRI and CT scans to check it all out. Must admit to being very nervous. Keep your fingers crossed for me & get into those dances…

Dairy Products and Breast Cancer
Hi, Margaret here. Just read an interesting article today linking breast cancer with consumption of dairy products. I always felt in the back of my mind that the hormones fed to milk producing cows affected my hormones too. Did any of you also consume a lot of milk products. My three sisters were lactose intolerant and one…

Thanks for the prayers etc.
Hello ladies. Thanks for the above. My surgeon believes that it was just a suture granuloma, nothing to be concerned about. However, he is sending off a frozen section and regular path. I will have to wait a week to find out the results. But I feel good if this is what he believes it is. He is very careful with me and very…

A question about tests
Went to the "regular doctor" for pains and spasms in lower left tummy area. She does urine, blood, xray and CT Scan. Urine shows calcium oxalate. She tells me that she ordered the wrong CT Scan and wants to do a Contrast CT Scan. Been there, done that and I'm not interested in repeating that experience. What other things…

Need your help
Ladies. My breast surgeon found two masses in my right breast, reconstructed, underneath the incision line. He thinks that they are probably just surgical changes; however, due to the fact that they were not there two weeks ago when he examined me in regular followup, and the fact that my original cancer was extremely fast…

Hello there all you wonderful, beautiful ladies!!!! I am going to make this sort and sweet(yeah, that would be a first!!) Pains and spasms on tomoxifen?
Anyone experience tummy pains and gassy spasms on tomoxifen? My oncologist said no and said to get it checked. My "regular" doctor thinks it might be kidney stones (great another new thing)due to calcium oxalate in sample but I don't have any "passing water problems" Had a CT Scan today. My "year" anniversary is Monday and…

Tamoxifen, hot flashes, & sex
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last July and had surgery to remove the lump, have been treated with radiation therapy and am now taking Tamoxifen twice a day.
