Need Input
My husband had a PET scan yesterday as followup for the initial radiation/Zeloda regimen. Our onc told us there was "good response" on the primary tumor. However, there are now two Supraclavicular lymph nodes that look to be involved on the R side. It also showed sinusitis on the L side. He has had a miserable cold since…

Mets to the adrenal gland
I’m looking for the CSN member who’s husband was going in to have test done on his adrenal gland. You had sent me a private message that got deleted by the system upgrade. I’m sorry I’ve lost your contact information but I hope all went well with the test. I’ve been hoping to hear how things went.

J Tube Removed and I'm now Tube Free
I've been able to maintain my weight without using the J TUbe so I went in yesterday and had it removed. Very quick and simple and it was longer than I expected it to be when it came out. There was like 6 inches of it that was actually in my intestine. There was no pain with it coming out whatsoever and I just have to keep…

Dad diagnosed with Stage IV EC in August 2012
My dad was diagnosed with EC in August 2012. The tumor is located at the GE junction and was almost 2 inches in size. He was a very strong, active, healthy 65 year old with no symptoms, not even acid reflux. He started having pain in his stomach in July 2012, and was treated for acid reflux. He ended up in the ER in August…

Reduced dosage
I'm curious, I'm approaching the next round of chemo. I've had some neuropathy issues. The drugs are Epirubican, oxaliplatin, and 5fu. The last round almost immediately I had problem with my leg muscles and my hands not responding. Kind of like a Charlie horse where the muscles locked up making it hard to walk. The…

Cremation
I'm donating my body to the University of Washington for medical students, or whatever. When they are done, they will cremate the remains, and then we have a choice of either having the "cremains" sent to the family, or they will be buried at a cemetery maintained by the UoW. So, that takes the cost down to practically…

Tom passed quietly this evening at our local hospital. He knew people this morning and I prayed our oldest son would get here in time to see his father. It's getting difficult to swallow again.
Seems the esophogectomy scar tissue at the esopho-gastric junction continues to close. As of today it's 4 stretches in 3 months. My gi doc is suggesting a stent placement for about one month in the hope that the scar tissue will mold itself to the shape and remain open after the stent is removed. Since I am growing…

1st Time Poster
I’m a long time lurker and first time poster. When I was first diagnosed with EC in November of 2011, my daughter introduced me to this site and I have found it to be very helpful and informative. The reason I’m coming out of the shadows now is I’ve noticed a lot of newbies to the site lately and I thought I’d make myself…
