Dandruff
Dandruff? In a post on uterine cancer? Well, here it goes: When I entered puberty I began to have dandruff. I did all the usual things and used all the OTC products. It continued to get worse and worse during college and grad school and my first positions. It got in my eyebrows, even. I'm sure any number of you know what…

Papillary Endometroid Adenocarcinoma of Intermediate Grade
Diagnosis on report they sent me-Papillary Endometroid Adenocarcinoma of Intermediate Grade. So Grade 2 for sure, unsure of stage until after I have the lymphadenectomy which is scheduled for next Friday 8/9. Treatment Update: Torisel
I'll be having my third weekly round of Torisel in a couple of days and thought it was time to post an update. Torisel is a brand name for the drug Temsirolimus, which is administered via IV. (Everolimus is the version that's taken orally.) They're all versions of an mTOR inhibitor, geared to my genetic PI3K mutation. Thus…

Sunrise19 update
Realize that I have taken way too long for an update, but seems things go up, down, sideways and always appts down the road. And that's the way this is gonna be. Then I read all the recent updates and questions and realize that there are so many more complicated issues ... and this will hopefully be simple. Dear Bluebird1…

Cryotherapy May Help Prevent Neuropathy Caused by Taxol Chemotherapy
I am not sure this article has been posted before, but I thought I would post it. We uterine cancer patients get treated with the same types of chemo. Might be a good article to show to your treatment group if they balk. https://www.breastcancer.org/research-news/cryotherapy-may-prevent-taxol-neuropathy For people…

Sailing along
Ah, the joys of remission! Hair is growing in. The soft feathery curly short "pixie" look is actually kinda cute. The only chemo I'm on is Herceptin, every 3 weeks, and it doesn't seem to have any side effects for me. My weight is stable - not losing, not gaining, which is reassuring. I would like to lose about 30 lbs…

Wigsbuy?
I was just wondering if anyone has ordered a wig from wigsbuy.com? I have already gotten a wig from a wonderful lady at a nearby salon . She did a great job matching it to my current hair but as I tried wearing it around the house it's long and hot in the summer heat.I found one on wigsbuy online but I wasn't sure how the…

feelings are a funny thing
Went for my second check-up since chemo ended. All is good! Will have another in 3 months and a CT scan at that time. I was just feeling differant about this visit and the way my Dr. was. It's kind of funny, almost like when you were a kid in school and you really liked your teacher, but then the next year she had a whole…

NCCN Guidelines
https://www.nccn.org/patients/guidelines/uterine/50/index.html This is a link to a very good source of information on uterine cancer. I just thought I would post it again, as there are some new members.

Hair growing back
I forgot to mention that my chemo went fairly well although I realize we are all different and react differently to it. Just wanted to let anyone just starting that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Take the nausea meds and keep food on your stomach even if it is crackers or dry toast. On the days where your taste…

Lymphedema
5 months post chemo and dealing with lymphedema. Have any of you ladies had lymphedema this soon after chemo? I know if you start physical therapy right away it is easier to treat. Swelling in my left foot and leg. Will have leg wraps and compression garments and exercise should help. And eating a balanced diet along with…

Lulu update
Well darn it......... the last CT scan has shown that the darn stupid beasts have progressed so I have a call into my gyn/onc about an appt to discuss another clinical trial or ???plan B. I had a feeling the scans weren't going to be positive news, especially when my CA 125 marker went up 15 points after dropping…

USPC recurrence
Hi gals. Have any of you with UPSC not have a recurrence? It seems like it inevitable, to get one or more recurrences. :( would be great to hear from people that didn't have a recurrence (yet) :)

Arthritis
Have anyone had that due to chemo? I've been experiencing pains in fingers, hands and ankles. It's not neuropathy,as I had that during chemo and this feels different. It's worse in the morning and getting somewhat better during the day. I'm almost 5 months out of treatment of stage 4 UPSC. still waiting on the NED part as…

Cancer Research Funding Article
It's been mentioned on the board before, but this new article supports the observations that research on endometrial cancer, along with colorectal, pancreatic, ovarian, cervical, brain and lung cancer are all poorly funded, considering how frequently they occur and/or how many people they kill.…

Just diagnosed, high anxiety
I am 68 years old and was just diagnosed. First meeting with oncologist is next week. But I'm crazy anxious about the whole thing. And because I live alone, I am especially concerned about the recovery after the hysterectomy --- how painful, how long, how much help I will need at home. I would be grateful for any input or…

Chemo doable?
I will be starting treatment soon. I keep hearing the inspiring message that chemo is doable but I also hear so much of the side effects. Many have said to ice hands and feet during treatment. Ice packs? Bucket of ice? Dealing with anxiety of this whole traumatic ordeal?

Aching legs
I am getting close to 5 months from last chemo, 4 months from Brachy. I know joint and muscle pain can be a side effect of chemo, but I wondered about how long that lasts on average. I have aching legs a lot of the time, and my hips hurt and are kind of weak. I am dealing with tendonitis in my ankle, and I also have…

neuropathy pain and Quell
Saw my podiatrist today about a bunion but also mentioned the pain in toes from the chemo induced neuropathy. She told me about a device called Quell that one can wear on the leg to reduce pain. I was wondering if any of you have used this and if it was any help. I have used a TIN some and it does help when it is on, but…

4 Years since cancer and all good
Hi, to give a bit of encouragement to those still going through treatment I wanted to report that I just had my 4 year checkup for stage IIIC endometrial cancer (grade 2) and all is well at this point. On June 30, 2015 I had a hysterectomy, and then on July 30, 2015 I began six months of a sandwich treatment (carbo-taxol,…

Endometrial Stage 1
I was just diagnosed last week with stage one Endometrial Cancer. I am anxiously waiting to hear from the GYN oncologist. It’s been almost a week when I was told it would only take 72 hours. I already called my GYN and they are trying to move things all along. I haven’t told a lot of people yet however some of them I have…

Very Low White Cells
My blood work 2 weeks ago had my white cells at 190. Because of that My Chemo Dr. said I might not get my last (I hope) Chemo treatment. Has anyone had their Chemo stopped because of their low white cells issue? Dr. did give me a lower dosage in my Chemo. I'll get my blood work done tomorrow & next week to see if I'll get…

Cheese Update
I heard from Cheese today and it's not good. Her run of bad luck just goes on and on... She finally got out of the hospital and headed off to the Maryland shore, where she last posted. Unbelievably, when they took the stent out (that damn stent!) she got sepsis, resulting in a 2-hour ambulance ride and an emergency…

Treatment clothing
I was shopping for shoes the other day and found "treatment wear" clothing on the Zappos website under their Zappos Adaptive line. I was fascinated; maybe there's a lot of stuff out there like this and I just didn't know about it? Since I generally wear pullover shirts, chemo-day clothes can be a challenge for me but this…

Stent Update
I've had my stent for three weeks now and am happy to report no problems thus far. To recap, they tried a nephrostomy tube (aka pee bag) but couldn't insert it because the tumor was in the way. The urologist gave 30% odds of being able to insert a stent; with odds so low I thought why even try? Plus, I was really, really…

Chemo and the sun
Hi all, I was just wondering if when having chemo therapy do u need to avoid the sun? My appt to find out when I will begin therapy is next week and I'm sure they'll let me know but thought I'd ask here too. It's hot where I live and I'm anxious for when I feel well enough what my limitations are going to be. Thank you
