A bit paranoid, maybe
So, surgery is 2 weeks from today. CT scan got rescheduled for the 4th. Second surgeon is changed, now it’s a gastroentolgy surgeon with specialty in cancer and research, along with gyn onc, this is all good. Shortly before I saw the gyn onc first time, I began having worse back pain, pain around the ribs, but didn’t…

Slightly elevated CA 125
Yup. Happened to me this time after months of it going down sharply. To be fair, it went up only six points ... 11 to 17. But I now know the panic so many ovarian and endometrial ladies feel when they see this. And I know it's usually watch and wait. It turned out I had a very-slightly-inflamed appendix in the last CT…

Breathing issues
Funny. I just read Northwoodsgirl’s post and maybe it has something to do with my question. Has anyone had breathing issues through their chemo. I’m talking about just going upstairs or a slight incline or a larger meal and having to take long breaths for at least 5 minutes to get back on track. It started at the first…

New study endometrial cancer and heart disease risk
When compared with matched controls, endometrial cancer survivors were 47% more likely to develop hypertension, diseases of the arteries, arterioles, and capillaries; diseases of the veins and lymphatics; and diseases of the heart between 1 year and 5 years after cancer diagnosis, reported Mia Hashibe, PhD, of the Huntsman…

Latest update from IV-ville
I haven't posted an update lately because I don't have much to tell, but am in so much pain right now that I decided to vent anyway. Thank you for bearing with me. My lower back pain was increasing alarmingly, but I attributed it to my 'usual' sciatica. Boy was I wrong. About 3 weeks ago my right thigh went numb and…

New dx 4/23/18
Hi I received my dx of Mmmt on 4/23/18. I was in shock well kind of still am as cancer does not run in the family. I had a total/radical hysterectomy on 5/7/18 by a gyn/onc at Stanford. I am very pleased with the care I have received thus far. I saw my gyn/onc 5/24/17 for a follow up and staging. I was staged a 1a And Ned…

Stranding
Well, I got my first CT scan after the surgery. Good news ... the main organs seem either stable or fine. That's actually great news. My appendix is very slightly inflamed, but there is no evidence of anything concerning other than the inflamation, and other things can cause this that aren't cancer-related. That will be a…

Incontinence after treatment.

Lost days after treatment...
Hello you wonderful, helpful women, I finished radiation in February and mistakenly thought I’d be done. All I had to do was get stronger which I thought would of course happen. Well I feel like I have a sorta good day then a bad day. I never have a completely good day. Today was an awful day. I felt generally I’ll all…

Vaginal Atrophy or something worse? Advice needed.
Hi ladies, I had endometrial cancer which was diagnosed in Dec. 2010. I had a complete hysterectomy in Feb. 2011. I was fortunate that it was caught early and after surgery, I didn't require any follow-up treatments other than seeing my Gynecologic Oncolgist twice a year for a pelvic exam and a vault smear. What brings me…

NeuEve and other non hormonal vaginal lubes
Found this product NeuEve on Amazon, reviews too good to be true, "restores" vagina from atrophy, improves sex, etc. No chems or hormones, but some ingredients are undisclosed. Wrote the company, they will not give details. Has anyone found a safe and effective lube for general discomfort, burning, pain, etc? I use cocnut…

thick green vaginal discharge
Seven months post radiation, two weeks post 5th chemo, I developed a thick, yellow/green, mucousy discharge, no odor, very gross. Saw three docs, three tests, no pathogens. Had a PET, all negative. So what is it? They all say its the treatments, but cannot say how long it will last, what to do, or whats in it. Anyone else…

Just in wait zone
first, i want to thank all, esp ‘it happened to me “ for the exc advice, particularly not getting ahead of things. I‘ve seen the Gyn Onc, had thorough exams, more tests, and more to go. The biopsy put cancer at grade 1, but gyn onc said “let’s hope it is”. I have a lot of pelvic pain and pressure, they noted a tumor they…

Kidney or UTI
i finished radiation last week. Started showing signs of UTI two weeks ago. Treated with antibiotics for a week. Symptoms worsen. Given second urinalysis and another week of antibiotics. I reviewed the results of my urinalysis and am concerned that this isn’t just a UTI. The test showed protein, glucose and blood in my…

external rads and returning to normal diet
OK, it has now been 5 weeks since my last of 25 external rads. I was taking 4-6 Imodium a day for about 4 weeks in the last 2 weeks of rads and then for the next 2 weeks. I began a probiotic 3 weeks ago and it has helped and now I may go 3 days w/o Imodium but then something happens. I have had such a bland diet for so…

Waiting for Biopsy
Hello, I've been reading your amazing posts and wondering if I should even post since I am just waiting for a biopsy, but here goes. I'm 44 and pre-menopausal. I have 2 children. I've been bleeding and cramping for the last 28 days. It is weird because it isn't heavy bleeding, but constant and mucusy. I've been on birth…

Hello All! Happy Mother's Day too! I have spent the morning with all 4 of my children and my grandbaby girl....What a wonderful blessing! I'm working on it, but I still can't shake the feeling deep in my soul that my time is limited. I found an awesome new Gyn Onc, and he finished my last 2 chemo's this past Thursday, May…

Biopsy results
My biopsy sample was not a good one, but there was no sign of cancer. There was adipose tissue in it, so he perforated my uterus but he said that's no big deal. I do not need to do anything else at this time, just go back for another u/s if I have any further bleeding six months or more from now. I really kept at him with…

Latest Update
Hello my friends! A lot has been going on so I wanted to post a quick update. I've been having bad lower back pain for the last month or so. I thought it was my usual sciatica. I was wrong. This week I saw my radiation onc about CyberKnife for the new mets, but he said no. The mass is too large (now 14 cm) to be Knifed AND…

Can depression be an early sign of cancer?
This series is my new obsession. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/18/magazine/it-looked-like-a-familiar-case-of-depression-but-could-it-be-something-else.html Do you remember being depressed prior to getting your diagnosis?

Newbies: There is always hope.
This new thread is being added as a request from EZLivin. Of course, no one wants to join this board but sometimes we have to. I am an almost 5 year cancer survivor. Feb., 2013, I had been spotting or bleeding for over 2 months. I thought this was normal because I was 51 at the time and thought maybe I was going through…

Friday the 13th
It has been going on since Friday the 13th. I had a CT scan, then a PET scan because they found a growth on my pancreas. This was there a long time ago. However in the past three years it has doubled in volume. This is a lymph node. I was diagnosed with non hotchkins lymphoma in 2011. This is too much to absorb. Now, the…

New DX,
Just diagnosed, waiting for insurance approval and referral to gynecology oncologist. Initial gynecologist carefully phrased the dx, just saying it may be early (From biopsy). I am 60 and never stopped having bleeding, so no way of knowing how long symptoms, as I also have numerous other health issues. I had a colon…

Shout out to Kathy/Kaleena
I seem to recall that one of our long-time posters/survivors, Kathy aka Kaleena, was to undergo surgery last week sometime. Just want to send along best wishes to her and her family as she takes a time out to care for herself, as she does so many of us with her thoughtful and informative posts. Best wishes, Kathy. Adenocarcinoma late diagnosis
Hi fellow patients. Glad to find this here to ask questions and talk about this without feeling like I am wearing my friends and family out talking about it. My symtoms started almost 4 years ago with right abdominal pain and a little bleeding when I was very active. Thought it felt like where an ovary would be. Went to…
