My 43 year old sister was diagnosed with uterine ca stage 4 grade 3. The mets has traveled to both lungs involving multiple innumerable nodules. She has currently completed 3 rounds of chemo. However, on her back she has developed a large painful lump. Her oncologist is fearful that it could be mets that has traveled to…

Tumors are still growing after the 1st Chemo
My sister just had another CT scan after her 1st chemo. The doctor didn't mention anything good or bad but I did notice the size of those tumors are still growing compared to the size shown from her previous CT right before the Chemo. Does anyone know if this means this type of chemo is not working? She will be having her…

My Mother has UPSC uterine cancer - Scared
Hi All, My mother was diagnosed with stage 3 UPSC in Jan. 2012. Tonight, I am in her hospital room wondering if she will make it through the night. She went through 3 rounds of carbo/taxol and it did nothing...cancer still progressed. They gave her a treatment of doxorubicin a few weeks ago, and I believe that's what has…

If you have heavy bleeding and have not reached menopause
My daughter in law just lost her cousin to Uterine Cancer. Jessie was just 34 years old. She never married or had children. She was bleeding heavy when she had her periods which isn't unusual for some people. She finally got fed up and went to the doctor who did a uterine biopsy and they found the cancer. Had a…

Saw the oncologist for the first time
Met with the GYN oncologist this morning. He suspects my endometrial cancer is in the early stages, but makes no promises since he won't know for sure what we are dealing with until after surgery. I will be having a Hysterectomy with lymph node removal using the DaVinci Robot procedure on Friday, June 15th. All other…

Blood Clot post-chemo
I had chemo on April 24 and I was thrilled it only took 2 sticks to get the IV flowing. All was going well until the last 15 minutes when I was halfway through my carboplatin. IV started hurting but I was going to be damned if I said anything because that would mean additional sticks and a longer day. Big mistake.…

Hi All, I received my biopsy results on Tuesday--cancer--and will be seeing the oncologist tomorrow morning. I have been at great peace since receiving the news, however the more I read the more apprehensive I feel. I am the sole caregiver for my mom, who is 88 and has vascular dementia. Most of my worry at this point…

Hysterectomy: GYN or GYN Oncologist?
I will have a biopsy in a couple of weeks. If I have uterine cancer, my GYN said that will mean an immediate hysterectomy. I spoke with her nurse earlier this week and she said my GYN would do that hysterectomy. If I have cancer, do I want my regular GYN to do the hysterectomy or do I want a GYN oncologist to do the…

Hello everyone, My mom is going through chemo for the third time now, and this time her doctor decided to do Doxirubicin(Adriamycin) alone. Completed 3rd round of Chemo
I finished my 3rd (and last!) round of Taxol/Carbo last Monday. I feel pretty good now and am past my "bad" days. The bone pain was a little worse this time, as I thought it might be. I have to get my nadir test today and see where that's at now. Then I have my 3 month pelvic exam tomorrow-my first one since my surgery. My…

Now I'm Freaked! Not Sure How to Interpret Dr. Appointment This AM.
I had a consultation with my GYN/ONC this morning to go over the T8/Bone biopsy results. He was on his annual volunteer doctor trip to Guatemala last week, so his associate called me to let me know the USPC has spread to the new location. She scheduled me for the 1st appointment this morning. I could sense a totally…

Surgery over and doing well - post op check up on Tuesday
on April 25th, surgery(Da Vinci) went well - was home the next day, off all pain meds on the 3rd day home and spent last week resting (actually spending extra time with the grandkids - which is the best medicine anyway). Only real issue is the itching of the incisions but I am happy with that is all I have to complain…

Two long days again. They gave me emend IV for nausea the first day with my Cisplatin. While I was getting my post hydration, I got very nauseated and had dry heaves. Compazine usually works for me, but there is a shortage of IV compazine, so it was not available. Zofran does not work for me, so they gave me IV Ativan. It…
