extreme fatigue after radiation?
My Mom had 10 treatments of radiation that ended a week ago. Now she can barely stay awake. Is this normal? She falls asleep while people are talking to her sometimes too. Her legs have so much lymphedema that they are now giving out on her. I guess that's the reason. Guess it could be fatigue or the tumors in her…

VENTING - Recurrence
I must be in a real mood today to Vent to all of you what's on my mind. Read it, Comment, if you like, Blow me off as some emotional mental case - but understand I just need to share with someone what I am dealing with. I figure that some might see 'bplatt' and just by-pass the discussion entirely. I have no doubt many of…

Lifestyle Changes - Food & Vitamins & Supplements
I was recently in a conversation with my chemo nurse, who is very knowledgable & extremely dedicated to answering any questions/explaining issues her chemo patients may have. If she doesn't know the answer, she discusses w/the doctor and gets back to them. I recently had a discussion about lifestyle changes I was trying to…

Just wondering about the water filtering. We have well-water that has no chemicals in it except what God put there(at least that I know of). Do you all think I still need a filter for the tap water? If so, what kind do you all recomend? Thanks, debrajo

Chemo hair loss
I was wondering if there's anyone out there that has had Taxol/Carbo that hasn't lost their hair? I know that's one of the main side effects of Taxol but I thought that maybe there was someone who had beat the odds. I'm resigned to losing my hair and it's due any time now. Does it fall out all at once? Or does it take a…

new to forum
I just joined this forum and wanted to share my story. I was diagnosed with Endometroid adenocarcinoma stage 1a grade 2 in January. Products
Can some of you recommend a really good, and good tasting olive oil? I've been using Bertolli Extra Virgin, but it doesn't even smell or taste like olive oil(which I love). Also, a face soap. I've used Dove for years, but my skin is so dry it is literly flaking into my eye(especially since my eyelashes never grew back).…

mom has "serous carcinoma" / UPSC, what is coming ahead?
Hello My mom had a pap smear last March 19 Monday and by Thursday, the OBGYNE called and said she had "serous carcinoma". The OBGYNE also ordered a pelvic ultrasound, which she had done on Thursday. She saw a GyneOncologist the next day and had orders for CT of pelvis, abdomen and chest. These will be done this coming…

Aspirin
In a news artical in our local paper, the newest "weapon" in the drug war to defeat cancer is plain old aspirin. The amounts of aspirin is not known yet and they are not saying it will prevent cancer, but it has already been proven to stop or slow down the spread of all types of cancer, especialy breast, lung, colon, and…

Had first day of 3rd chemo
Was another long day. We left at 5:15 a.m. for 6:30 lab, 7:30 Dr's appointment and then 9:00a.m. infusion chair. Of course it takes an hour after you are in the chair to get any medications started. We got home about 6:00 p.m. My blood counts remain good, and so do the liver enzymes . The best news though is that the CA…

Epigenetics
Fascinating information below!! If you Google, you'll find lots of great information on this topic. Epigenetics is changing the way we eat and live. Epigenetics is a new area of biology that is re-writing the text books. It is the study of how our environment (food, thought, belief, and physical environment) affect which…

Forgive my ignorance
Would someone please tell me what the term"Small detatched fragments of poorly differential carcinoma" means and how big is 1.8x1.5x0.4cm? Also, what does 0.5into5.0thick myometriam invasion mean? I have an idea of the polyp and surrounding tissue size, but my metric conversion leaves a lot to be desired! Thanks All,…

Good news with lung mets from Megace treatment (and complementaries)--closer to official NED
I have good news to share. I had my latest set of CT scans on Monday--chest, abdomen, pelvis. There is nothing new showing in my abdomen or pelvis, so that's great--the second scan in a row with nothing suspicious (my September scan did show enlarged lymph nodes, including the one in my pelvis that was only resectable…

UPSC=?
I have a question: I know this upsc is rare, was told it's really 1 in 1,000,000. I was also told there is no genetic link, no family link, no life-style link, no enviromental link, nor anything else that causes this. All this by the doctors. Also no drug just for UPSC, very little research being done, and no trial studies…

What do you think about the new Pap smear recommendations?
I haven't decided what I think yet, but given I'd always had normal smears and never had cervical cancer, dysplasia, or any problems (for 40+ years) yet it was a Pap that showed the postmenopausal endometrial cells, I wonder. I know there are others here who had endometrial cells on a Pap with no other symptoms. . . It had…

Metastases of recurrent uterine adenocarcinoma in lung
I just had a biopsy that is "most likely" a recurrent uterine adenocarcinoma in my left lung. It's only 1 nodule, about 1.5 cm in size now. The part that is freaking me out is that the surgeon is talkig about a Pneumonectomy - removing my entire left lung - because the nodule is near the pulmonary artery and main bronchial…
