Effectiveness of LID
Hi gals and guys, After three days of my LID, I'm thinking it would probably be a good idea to do a spot urine iodine test just before I start the RAI treatment to make sure I'm able to lower my iodine levels enough. As far as I can tell from looking at my RAI treatment schedule, I don't have one scheduled. I say this,…

Thyrogen
I had my first thyrogen injection this morning and all is well so far. So... in tomorrow for the second injection, scan dose of radiation on Wednesday and then in Friday for the scan. This will determine the action plan. More radiation or surgery and radiation again... is there really one that is better than the other? :-/…

Careless Measures Re: RAI
It has come to my attention that some doctors are not warning or informing people in the US about the importance of isolation after RAI. This leads me to believe that some people are not careful because they are not told when it comes to protecting others from the radiation. Is this why the cases of Thyroid cancer is…

Blood Work
I had my Thyroid removed and Radiation 4 months ago. My endo had her nurse draw blood for a baseline reading. When I asked the nurse what test were being done (as she drew 4 or 5 vials of blood) she told me my Thyroid levels, calcium levels, and then said "to see if the cancer has come back". She said they would have the…

9 1/2 years post thyroidectomy and thyroglobulin levels going from .6 to 1.0
My Dr. would like to run a full body scan based on the recent increase in otherwise fairly stable tg levels between .2 and .6 for many years. Is there anyone who is this far out from diagnosis that can share their experiences in tg levels changing?

Meds you can take after thyroid problems
With the pollen and allergy season arriving, I'm just curious about the sinus/allergy medications you can take. I was told not to take anything that says in the very fine print not to take if you have have thyroid problems, so I was wondering how these meds affected the majority with thyroid issues and what to take.

My wife (34 yrs old) was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in June 2010. Had a TT and removed 60ish lymph nodes from neck with 50% being cancerous. Can anyone share experience with papillary carcinoma in "hot" nodule
Hi, I am newly diagnosed, and so scared that this cancer has spread through my body. And it seems like it will be FOREVER before I have any answers. One question that I have is because the hot nodule is functioning in some way, it is more likely to have blood flowing through it and thus moving cancer cells? I know that is…
