Newly diagnosed
Hi everyone. I am 5 days post total thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer. My right recurrent laryngeal nerve was damaged during surgery. Now I can hardly speak and I am having lots of trouble swallowing. Has anyone else been through this? I'm wondering if this is ever going to improve.

I forgot to mention, on day of scan, which took at least an hour........ they told me I had lots of uptake in my bowel & to drink Citrate & come back next day for repeat....... Depression after thyroidectomy
Has anyone had severe depression after a thyroidectomy? It started immediately after surgery a year ago. Hard to break the cycle. Any tips for it other than more drugs? Also a breast cancer survivor. Thanks.

In 2/05 I had a total thryoid removal and later had radioactive iodine treatment. I was going to an endo, but was later told that my family doctor could…
