Metformin and statins
Hi there, I thought that I would bring this paper to everybody's attention. It seems to show that there is a distinct link between taking metformin and a statin and the progress of PCa. If you have metastatic prostate cancer or you think that you might then if you can persuade your doctor to give you some metformin and a…

Testosterone recovery after ADT
Hi there, I thought this new publication would add to the knowledge of members. It seems that testosterone recovery after ADT takes some considerable time and after a time around the nineteen months that I received recovery can take up to two years, but the chance of recovery is better than I thought! You will have to copy…

Deuxième anniversaire
Hi there, Today's the day, two years ago I had a prostatectomy. I am celebrating with a couple of Belgian gin and tonics. HTK gin is OK, plenty of juniper but the coriander and lemon are just a bit too floral for my tastes. Long live Bombay Sapphire! I am a long term Schweppes, not Slimline, Tonic abuser :-) Hic, Georges

Bizarre or lucky patient
Hi there, I thought I would share this publication with you as it shows just what a bizarre or lucky patient I am. When I look at my diagnosis at age 55 with a PSA of 133 -142, BMI of 24, stage 3 disease with a Gleason of 7 (4+3) I realise that I am in a tiny minority. Really I should be looking at heavy metastases and…

Raised PSA 7 weeks after biopsy
Hi All Thanks for your valuable information. My brother had a PSA test recemtly at about 7 weeks after biopsy. It had a reading of 5.5. He was 3.2 on the day of the biopsy. He has Gleason 3+4 in one core of 16 that were sampled. Does PSA go up by that much after a biopsy?

At age 59 my original 8/2010 Gleason score was 9 but post DaVinci (10/2010) it was lowered to 7 (4+3). I was fully functional after surgery with no leakage and sexually active in a few weeks with help of vitamin V. Post surgical report showed capsule contained with no sign of spreading. For the last nine years PSA held…

First sign of life
Just want to report new development. Two days ago, Sunday morning, I experienced first sign of life from my penis. Two twinges were felt , similar to those before RP, when penis opens arterial valves and starts engorgment. Engorgment did not happen but feeling reminded me of old days before RP when everything was…
