Prostate contained cancer but one positive margin
I had a radical prostatectomy five weeks ago and just now found out from my doctor what was meant by "tumor focally extends to the inked/cauterized margin in the left apex." Meaning: one positive margin. It's got me very spooked, I have to say. I know that a positive margin increases the chances of recurrence. The cancer…

Incontinence--------the continuing Saga--New Doctor
All, After my last encounter of having my record or surgery basically lost. My new Doctor will be giving me a Botox Injection on Oct 11. Not so sure what the other Doctor gave me. I was told it was Botox, but there's no record to be found. And no change--so maybe it was Saline solution---we may never know. Lion1

Statins and ED
I'm still pre-treatment for my PCa, but just discovered that Simvastatin and other cholesterol reducing medications have the side effect of also reducing testosterone production and causing ED. Found this out because I take Simvastatin (generic for Zocor and one of many statin drugs) and, after we doubled the dose I was…

What is Real Care? Who is the right Doctor? Where's my record of Surgery?
After talking to my wife tonight something hit me like a ton of bricks. It bothered me more than ever before. I am speaking of the care I have received or the lack of it. As I head to my third Doctor tomorrow in Jacksonville Florida, I am hoping that not only I get the care I deserve but the attention I deserve as an…

Biopsy
I was curious about something. A contributor mentioned that he was "too drugged up" during the biopsy to remember anything. The people I talked to prior to my biopsy reported they were either "knocked out" or were given Valium or some other mind-numbing drug. At Johns Hopkins I took it like a man(joke). No sedation, no…
