HIFU
I am not eligible for surgery for prostate cancer because of a heart condition. I am investigating HIFU in Canada, though my urologist recommends against it. Has anyone had any experience with this procedure? and, if so, do you recommend it? jes

incontinence
Friends, OK, the catheter came out Monday, 12 days after surgery. I'm still flowing like a river ( day 14 )when ever I stand up, laugh out loud, or climb the steps. I am doing the kegels as often as I think of them. I can slow urination only by controling liquid intake. I know this is the wrong thing to do. I started off…

Before the week of Feb 3, 2006 I was set to do a robotic laperscopic surgery. I asked the chat room what were their thoughts because I was diagnosed with a 6 gleason, and had been watchful wating for almost 2 years, averaging psa's between 4.5-5.1. I had mixed emotions and was thinking to still wait. For those who…

catheater removal
I suppose I should have asked the doctor's office about this, but as usual, it didn't come to mind till this morning. I was prescribed "cipro" to be taken the day before, day of, and the day after removal. Like most of the post I've read on this subject, the catheater has become very annoying and I'm glad it's time to be…

Last month I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Since 2003 my PSA has risen from a 3.8 to a 6.1 and I have a gleason score of 8. My biopsy showed cancer in all of the six samples taken. My urologist recommended a laparoscopy prostatectomy with possible removal of the lymph nodes depending on what they find. (with possible…

Incontinence
I had nerve sparing surgery on October 3, 2005 and after four months still have a major incontinence problem. I'm sort of O.K. if I stay seated but any activity like walking or playing golf causes quite a bit of leakage. My surgeon at Emory Hospital in Atlanta has told me to give it time and continue doing the Kegel…
