Swelling in legs and painful knee joints
I haven't been on the board for awile, but wanted to stop by and ask a question. I was diagnosed with stage 1C ovarian a year ago, had a complete hysterectomy, oopherectomy, omenectomy, and the removal of several lymph nodes (not sure how many). I went through 8 rounds of taxol/carboplatin (once every three weeks) and…

Hi, March 7, 2012 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I had the debulking surgery, followed with 18 weeks chemotherapy, both IV and IP. August 3, 2012 I was declared cancer free. Yeah! Feburary 2001 I had two lumps removed from my right breast. No chemo required. Currently, I have an 87% chance of breast cancer. So, the…
I have a lot of spare time on my hands
I decided to calculate who posts more on CSN, men or women and on which boards. To simplify I assumed that all breast and gynecological are women, all prostate and testicular are men and all other boards are 50/50. Results are sorted by number of posts in descending order. Women lead overall 70 / 30. Over third (34%) of…

Proud of mom
My mom (Chris8588) has been such a trooper through this whole thing, words cannot describe how blessed I am to have her as my mother. Watching her go through this has reidrated the fact that she is the strongest woman I know. I would do or give anything to her and I wish she weren't so hard on herself.
Hypochondria + Free Canadian Healthcare = ???
For the last 3-4 weeks I have been having all kinds of aches and pains, especially upper back and joints. Plus persistent cough (cold? smoking?), foggy brain and sleepiness (chemo? menopause? being lazy?) - obviously I have diagnosed myself with brain, lung and bone cancer. Don't judge. At least I ruled out prostate…
delay in chemo
I was supposed to have my 5th round of chemo today but my platelets were low so I have to go back on Thursday and have them retested and hopefully can have my chemo then. Has that happened to anyone else.

Bye Bye Port.....
This morning was my port removal surgery... It took longer to get me ready than it did to do the removal. I am so happy to have it out. Now I don't have to look at it anymore. Not that I will ever forget what I went through last year but at least now I will not have the constant reminder every time I get dressed. It will…
Constant fatigue
Hello everyone. Ladies I need your advice. I take care of my mom fulltime. 83yr old on Taxol/avastin. Taxol/avastin week 1 and 3 Taxol week2 off week 4. Cr125 was at 300 after first round down to 132. Mom is always tired to start with and I can understand all she has been through and all she is going through. I just don't…
