13 Is the Magic Number
I am having my chest port out on Monday morning.... I am very excited about this because that was the last thing on my cancer list that had to be taken care of. It will be so nice to look at myself in the mirror and not see those 3 little dots looking back at me screaming 'you had chemo"... I have my next 3 month check up…

Didn't someone on here once post that they had appendix cancer?
Last weekend a friend asked me if I was willing to speak with a friend of hers who they had said had OVCA. Anyway, when she had surgery Monday, they realized that it was appendix cancer. Apparently it is very rare, and there are very few specialists for this type of cancer. The family is considering M.D. Anderson or Cancer…

Easter
I do believe in the living Christ and His word. Saying that doesn't make me some super person who can withstand things without falling apart by any means. Had to leave Sunday school class this past Sunday due to crying. Just hits me sometimes. However, if we look at Christs closest followers, his disciples, I'm reminded…

So I have had 4 treatments so far and no problems with chemo, but I am with the after effects. I have to switch to the everyday neupogen shot because Neulasta was giving me problems. I have had low potassium so have had to do two potassium infusions plus I am on oral potassium pills at home. My hemogloblin was low so I had…

Hello, Dear Ones
Hi All, It's been quite a while since I've posted and I thought I'd check in. For those who I haven't met, I was diagnosed 3C in May 2006, had a terrific 3 year remission and have been chemoing again for the last 3 years. I know that sounds very scary, especially to those who are now in chemo treatment and counting them…

When I was first diagnosed 5 years ago, I frantically searched for survivors... hoping to find some that battled this horrible disease and Won! I could not find many. Recently I realized that I haven't written on this site in a long time. I would like to share this good news with you so that it might encourage someone. I…

Gift for a Cancer Patient
Me, a 10 year survivor of ovarian cancer (did I mention I had clear cell?) Ever been asked what to give as a gift to a cancer patient? There are so many times a cancer patient has something to celebrate. Let’s start with each day we awake to a new day. Now that’s something to celebrate! How about when we have good results…

Intro--encouragement offered
Hello, everyone! I am new to this board. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 granulosa cell oc two years ago this week. I had a total hysterectomy and three rounds of chemo (5 days/wk, then off for two). Two Year Anniversary!
Exactly two years ago today, I had my last chemo treatment. I've been dancing with NED (no evidence of disease) ever since! I'm not greedy. There's plenty of NED to go around. I hope and pray that NED dances his way into the lives of the women he hasn't met yet and stays with the rest of us. Praying for us all! Kelly

4th go round
My cancer has come back now for the 4th time. They are trying Doxil (caleyx here in Canada) again. I prevoiusly had that with carbopaltin on the 2nd recurrence and it worked to bring the numbers down that time. Have had the first round of doxil and my numbers have increased by 150. They say don't worry as this sometimes…

Three Years NED
It has been over three years since I received the glorious news that I was NED. I’m certain it came as a shock to my gyn/onc, who, after my suboptimal debulking from a very aggressive cancer, said I would never achieve remission and would not last a year. I think he wasn’t far from wrong. The time of treatment was an…

Thyroid results
Good news. My ultrasound came back negative for any thyroid disease or cancer. I am so happy!! My blood work came back normal too. They think the swelling is a fatty area.

Just more of the Same -
So I was diagnosed with stage 3C OVC in 2007. First let me say that I have been very fortunate and have enjoyed a lot of pretty good health and normalcy since my diagnosis. I have an amazing and blessed life. And bottom line - I am still here! Now for the whine - In 2011 after over 3 years of NED my tumor marker began to…

IP chemo
I am fairly new to this or any message board, but not so new to OC. I was diagnosed in July, 2011, with stage 3c. I had three cycles of good old taxol and carbo then hysterectomy and debunking, then four more cycles of chemo. That got me to NED!!! I went into a clinical trial for a maintenance drug called Opaxio. I got…

Third Anniversary
Today marks the third anniversary of the call that forever changed my life. It is hitting me harder this year probably because I was in remission for the first two. I have mixed feelings today. Of course I am thrilled to be alive. When I got my diangosis I "assumed" I had a few months to live. I am also in remarkably good…

Hello ladies, I will be starting a new trial with Doxil on April 1st. Can anyone give me some opinions or insight on how they did on this drug. How long they were on it before they saw results, if any. How did you feel on it? Also your most serious side effects? They tell me to expect some sensitive skin issues mostly,…
