Looking for my Gemzar Cisplatin Buddies
Was in touch with Saundra, Libby, Bonnie Carol, Michaela Marie, and many others as we were all on the same regiment about the same time. Have kind of lost touch over the last few weeks as I have been feeeling lousy. Had Carboplatin and Taxol before and breezed through those. This chemo is brutal on the stomach. Anyway, it…
Libby's update
Had my checkup yesterday. CA125 has gone from 199.8 to 36.3 after two complete cycles (1a&b and 2a&b). Praising the Lord that chemo (gemzar/cisp) is working this second time around too. Ill defined mass on left side (rectosigmoid junction) is somewhat smaller by physical exam. White counts staying up due to Neulasta…
No chemo today
I didn't get my chemo today, rescheduled for next week. My oncologist said my blood was barely OK and he does not want to knock be down too hard because of the diverticulitis complication. He did schedule an echocardiogram for tomorrow. My CA125 did go from 434 to 288 since the last chemo so it did knock it back. He wants…

Picture of Mom with wig and new hat and me...
Hi Everyone. I just got back from NY where Mom had her second chemo and is in remarkable spirits. We took a picture for the website. She is in her new wig and summer hat. My sister also purchased a winter hat as well. Her 3rd chemo is in 2 weeks and then CT scan. We hope the chemo will have shrunk the tumors and stragglers…
Good News
Hi, I just want to share my good news. I have had 4 treatments of carbo/taxotere, after having 8 treatments of the same back in 2007 and a 15-month remission. My CA125 is down to 22. My gyn-onc says he expects me to go back into remission! I will have two more treatments and then a CT scan at the end of October to confirm…
Trying to get a grip....
Hi. I was diagnosed back in October of '07 with stage 4 ovarian cancer, already metastisized to my liver. At the time of diagnosis, my CA125 was nearly 23,000 (that's not a typo). They gave me six months to live. The good news is, I'm still here (hoo-ray). The bad news is, we may be running out of treatment options. Since…
Thank you all
Thank you for your kind and comforting words. As you say only time will help. We have decided to move next month. Any tips for living in Florida?? I hope this will help us all to change our environment and maybe help me a little bit. Many prayers for you all. Liz
