Nausea from Taxol and CARBO
Hi I'm new here. I am just 2 weeks post op with a dx of ovarian cancer. It was caught early so my outlook is very good but I will soon be starting a round of chemo with Taxol followed by an injection of CARBO the following day. I was wondering if anyone has had this combination and what the possibility of nausea and…

Platelet count down
I went for my Last chemo today. My blood work was fine, except my PTL (platelet) is 106 and should be between 150-400. Next to my result of 106 there are initials in bold prink URI. I thought that mean upper respiratory infection. So I was wondering if it means I am more susceptible to catching something. Should I self…

Hello I'm new to the CSN. I'm so tired all the time.
I had Ovarian Cancer July 2004. Had complete hysterectomy followed by chemo. I went back to work, but last November I couldn't handle it anymore and quit work. I was sick all the time and the fatigue was/is unbearable. My blood work always comes back normal. I thought I might have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome until I recently…

CT scan results
Hello ladies, I finally heard about my CT scan from last Monday. There is an "area of concern", something that wasn't there on the last scan. But my Wisconsin oncologist said it would be OK for me to continue with our current plans; going to Washington D.C., then flying to Wisconsin. I will be seeing him at the end of May…

Were you able to return to work while receiving chemotherapy?
As soon as I became somewhat coherent after my surgery in March I asked my oncologist about return to work. Although my job is mentally taxing, there is no real physical energy drain. I was told that, depending on how I respond to the first carboplatin/taxol treatment, I could probably return at least part-time. Reading…

Limbo
Hello to everyone, I haven't posted my situation in a while because I'm still in limbo-land; my oncologist is monitoring my CA-125 (which is still hovering in the 50's), and I was told there's a 4 cm spot on soft tissue behind by bladder that appears to be thickening, and they'll be watching that for changes. In the…

Senna S Question
Just wondering why the senna-s or and other similar projects are empty on the shelves. Monika I read your note about it but thought, no we have it. Then yesterday we stopped at walmart and the shelves are empty. I googled the question but found nothing. Just curious and hoping it is only temporary.

question about chemo regimen
Hi ladies! I just have a question about my mom's chemo regimen. She is taking Taxol/Carboplatin once a week for 3 weeks then a week break which equals a round. She has to complete 6 rounds(months). She is stage 4 and was extremely ill when she was diagnosed. I am just wondering why they are giving it to her this way…

Results of PET Scan
Well it looks like I am not in remission anymore. The PET scan confirmed that the enlarged para aortic lymph nodes are cancerous. The scan does not show any other areas of concern. I had a new CA-125 done as well and it has increased from 79 to over 200 in one month. My CA-125 was 4500 when initially diagnosed so I'm…

My Mommy is gone...
I'm so so shocked, sad, tired and frustrated. My Mommy passed away this Monday morning after almost 3 months of the bowel obstruction which made her spend 18 days on the hospital and the rest at home. She ended with a multiple organ failure. Thank the Lord I was with her almost all Sunday and until her last breath at 11:15…

It was a free, all-day event in Cleveland, and they hold them in different cities throughout the year (they did mention one coming up in Las Vegas). One had been planned in…
