Treatment Unsuccessful
The latest CAT Scan indicated that the chemo did not slow or reverse the spread of the cancer. Therefore, the chemo has been discontinued and the cancer is left to run its course. I should expect "months" to live rather than "years". For a short time, I will feel better as the side effects of the chemo wear off. There is a…

New diagnosis, adenocarcinoma only found in brain
I was found a couple weeks ago to have 5 lesions in my brain that are adenocarcinoma. 3 were surgically excised and 2 biopsied. There haven't been any other tumors in my chest at all, or anywhere else, which is a bit confusing to me. I am a 49 year old female, smoker, with no COPD or lung deficiency ever. Tumors were found…

On chemo: Taxole and Erbitux. Waiting for latest scan, planned in about a week. Very great fatigue. Hard to even post moderate items. Just…

Dr's are saying her prognosis is very bleak. Just wondering if anyone on here has this same diagnosis? She was diagnosed Jan 30th and is going for a 2nd opinion in…

what's the next step after first line treatment?
The doctor I see for chemo hasn't explained what follows the last treatment. I have lc 3a and all he's said is to 'keep up with your mammograms and you should be good,' then he left the exam room. Forgive me for being dense but what in Hell do mammograms have to do with LUNG CANCER?

Tarceva
Hello, My 88 year old mother has stage 4 esophageal cancer, rather than lung cancer. She has been getting chemo for the last 2 years, but the last three chemos caused heart problems and a colon infection. Based on my mother’s age – she is 88 years old – and the problems she has lately experienced with chemo, her oncologist…

proton bean for lung CA with emphysema
My mom is starting SBRT for a stage 1 upper lobe NSC lung CA tumor very soon – the mold is being created (?) on Monday. The markers were placed on Friday. This has all happened quite fast and I am interested if anybody knows if proton beam can spare significant lung tissue damage relative to SBRT which is important because…
