PBS Program: FRONTLINE Facing Death
I did not know where to post this. I don't want to scare the crap out of any "newbies" on the colon cancer site so I thought I'd post it here (for now) I did not get to watch it all, I had to run out somewhere but it is viewable online at this WEBSITE. It's something we all have to face at some point.

Employment Advice: If you’re a hero, why are you hiding it?
My sister gave me an article from a newspaper about looking for work after surviving cancer. I thought it was worth posting here for other heroes to read. by Eli Amdur Over the last few weeks I spoke with five interesting people who had five things in common. Here are the first four. They are all cancer survivors, they are…

Any LT survivors changed ways of living?
I'm not what you'd call a long-term survivor, but getting closer to the 1-1/2 year mark...hooray!!! Curious...did any of you make any big changes to your way of living? Such as foods (organic), grass-fed meats, no red meats, avoid sugars, certain vitamins, physical exercise, avoid household contaminants, etc. This is just…

6 years ago, this week.....
The day after Thanksgiving, to be exact.... I was told those 3 words, and told I had about 6 months to live. "Get your affairs in order", "Say goodbye to your loved ones"...all of that.... Not only did I survive that first cancer (rectal) but, at 6 months, started treatment for the second (breast) that they had found to…

Depression
I am a 38 year old male cancer survivor of 5 years. Other than my family, doctors, and select friends I have not discussed this with many people, and never thought I would post my story on a discussion board. I thought I was potraying to others that I was the same person, with the same feelings, and am living my life, that…

Things to look forward to...
Things to look forward to... I don't know if I oughta' be posting here or not, since I'm only four years post-DX and surgery, not five. I guess I'm a "survivor" (so far, anyway), since I haven't been abused by cancer for four years (since surgery). They said I would be gone in 3 to 5 years even with chemo, and without,…

Child to parent...when did it happen....sigh....
I had found it necessary, for her safety, to cuddle my mom into a retirement community. It is a VERY nice place, with 3 private shuttles to take her shopping, the doctor, even to entertainment events (no, I don't see my mom going to Pearl Jam any time soon...LOL!). She has all of her furniture (well, that will fit in a…

4 years ago today...
It was 4 years ago today that I first heard those 3 little words, "You have cancer". Stage III cancer, at that! What a scary thing to happen to a person without symptoms on Halloween! (Routine screening colonoscopy.) "But how could this be?" I thought. I take care of myself, eat right, don't smoke, exercise, no family…
