Well I go down to San Francisco tommorow for a check up, I have not had a PET scan done for this. I had one done in May wich was only 7 weeks after radiation stopped and it was not clear. I imagine she will put the camera up my nose and take a look. One thing that has changed is my voice keeps going out, I hope it is…

Hello everyone, Connie is over 4 months now from last radiation treatment. In the last week she has experienced severe ear pain and I have heard a lot of people on this site say they have experienced it. She goes in for another CT scan in a little over 2 weeks. Is this normal or should we be more concerned, I don't know if…

Back again, for the moment
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here, due to a combination of heavy workload (now over) and major health problems (only beginning). Being a journalist, albeit one who retired July 1, I’ll keep this brief. I wrapped up a 34-year career as a reporter and editor on the final day of Delaware’s legislative session,…

Radiation done - what now?
My husband just finished his 33 radiation treatments, and until last week, he was really doing quite well (considering all the things they told us could happen, etc.) But interestingly, day 30 he just hit a wall, feels so exhausted, started having some pretty good pain, dizzy, blocked ears - all the things I've read about…

Lock Jaw?
I have no idea if this is related to radiation or anything, but I thought I'd ask you geniuses on here! Lately I get lock jaw! Like a lot, it's usually while I'm brushing my teeth, but more and more it just happens for no reason. I guess you'd call it lock jaw. I can't really open it and it starts feeling kind of numb,…

My new wish
On vacation with grandchildren. My new wish: I wish Johnson and Johnson would invent a diaper that would "heat Wrap" the wonderful presents left by children while still in the diaper. This would prevent the angels from sticking their hand down the back of a full diaper and pulling out a gift for grandpa (lets not forget to…

Metastasis to pelvic region
I wrote back in June that the docs suspected tumors in the bone of my husbands hip and you were all great to tell me not to panic. Well the biopsy came back as squamous cell carcinoma so confirmed our fear of recurrence. It recurred only six weeks after treatment ended. We are now beginning a new cocktail of chemo that…

Is it back?
I'm two weeks away from my 9-month check-up and I'm feeling a bump right above my collarbone. Oddly enough it's just right underneath one of the draintube scars from my neck dissection a year ago. Haven't told the husband, or anyone except you folks for that matter, about this. Just trying to spend the next few weeks…

The light at the end of the tunnel is not a train...it is…
