Hi everyone. At the end of last week I noticed two things, 1) numbness in my hands and feet, and 2) tinnitus and hearing loss. The numbness is mainly in my pinkie fingers (mostly on my right hand) and big toes. The tinnitus is mainly in my right ear and things are sounding a bit muffled there too. I had a hearing test in…

Carotid Body Tumor
I'm 29 years old, 4 months pregnant, and I have just been at least preliminarily diagnosed with a carotid body tumor. I say preliminarily because the diagnosis was arrived at after an ultrasound, and I'm waiting on referrals to talk to specialists. So I guess my guess is that if it's NOT a carotid body tumor, it's…

A social worker friend sent me a website for a national organization that provides four monthly house cleanings for women in treatment. Don't know if it is legit. Site looks "good." www.cleaningforareason.org. Caution: be careful with pain meds when strangers are in the home. Hope this is for real. Vince

Tinnatus-hearing aid assistance available
Howdy, for those of us who might suffer long term hearing loss accompanied by tinnatus, hearing aids are often prescribed to lessen the sound in the ear/brain. Problem is, hearing aids are very costly, $2,500 or more. There are a couple of sources for financial and fitting support available. One is the Lions Club program,…

Has anyone else here experienced "late" hair loss? I am roughly five weeks out from end of radiation, and six weeks out from my last cisplatin chemo. During treatment my hair thinned to roughly half of what I normally have, but as my hair is pretty thick, I still had scalp coverage. Hair got all dry and brittle, like it…

Radiation Dosages
Can anyone tell me anything about radiation dosages? We were told Glenn would receive 6000gy on the right side and 5400gy on the left. Does anyone know what those numbers signify and what they can be compared to to have significance? In other word, is it a big dose, a medium dose.....?

Here's a calendar
Hi everyone, here is an available calendar I've added a title to. I have three websites, and I could see about tacking one onto the end of one of my sites if this doesn't work. This is one I've used for different groups before, and is hosted by calendars.net. I've left the permissions wide open, so anyone can change…

Chemo brain is very real!
Hi Friends, Just opened my email ACS News Letter "New Connections". One week through
Hi Folks Just finished the 1st week of Rads and 1st of 3 cistplatin treatments. Everything fine so far, only complaint is the almost-constant bloated feeling. I think its most likely from me eating as much as I can and all the water I'm taking in. I stayed in the hospital for 2 nights during the chemo treatment. They…
