Chemotherapy and Drinking Water: What to do?
Because his recent November 2009 surgery didn't remove all the cancer from my husband's body, he has begun a course of Xeloda chemotherapy. The Xeloda prescription bottle says to drink a lot of water when taking the drug. He does that and I'm assuming that the large glass of water consumed with the pill is supposed to…

Perforated diverticulum caused by chemo
Had my CT Scan on Monday and ended up in the hospital for three days because of a Perforated diverticulum. Just got home. Supposedly the perforation closed itself off, but it seems to have been caused by the chemo. Have any of you had this? This was supposedly a small perforation, but I have to wonder how bad it can get.

Colostomy questions
Hello all. I was diagnosed with stage 3c Ovarian Cancer in April 2009. I had surgery(hysterectomy, splenectomy) and 6 cycles of chemo--Cisplatin, Taxotere and Taxol. After all that the Pet scan showed a tumor that survived. The tumor is located on my rectum. I've been on Avastin for 6 months and while it is shrinking the…

Don't know enough about this stuff to know if is crapola or not. Dendritic cell vaccine. Allegedly they harvest blood cells, process them in a laboratory to produce…

Hernia Surgery
Just to let you know that I am doing fine, the surgery was a breeze, I was in pain for about 5 days but it has lessened. What turned out to be a small hernia was a lot bigger once they got in there. But I was out before I entered the surgery room and awake and back about two hours later. They let me wake up naturally, on…

Hi everyone: My sister (Brenda3.16) had an appt. at Fox Chase in Philadelphia today. The oncologosdt agreed that her chemo is working well and stated that since the cancer is in the liver and lungs, she is most likely not a surgical candidate at this time. It was kind of disappointming, but we realize that it is great that…

Doctor only had to remove 40% of her liver and the one met he could not get, too close to an artery, he fried. She is doing well and her family is so relieved. Tina

update on to pet or not to pet
well ONC said that I couldn't take the pre med pills for a c scan because it would get into my blood stream and be the same as the dye. Than he said a pet can be done on some one with blood sugar over 120 because the radition is attracted to abnormal cancer cells and would most likey go to them. I explained I don't have…

Those on Xeloda:Have you noticed changes in your finger tips?
When I had first started Tx in June a few articles appeared about loss of fingerprints as a result of Xeloda tho how long it took and what dose I don't recall. My own fingertips have little marks (like a 1/4 inch crease or line on several)and prints are difficult to see. A painless side effect......steve

Great News
I went for my post op xray and consult with the surgeon yesterday. If you remember, she originally thought she was going after 8 or 9 nodules in both lungs.
