Several questions ladies
OK everyone. Sailed through treatments. Bilat and chemo. Stopped Tamoxifen a month ago. Took for 2 years three month. Oncol persuaded me to try, as I know a lot of you have also, Goserelin/Zoladex implant every three months. Would you all agree this is just more of the same? When ovaries stop functioning Armidex, again…

Confused Boyfriend
Hi, I was hoping to gain some perspective of what my girlfriend is going through. After her diagnosis, she wanted me to move on with my life and did not want to hold me back. I told her I loved her and was not going anywhere. She had surgery, started chemo and our relationship was going really well. Chemo was tough…

MY story hope it is encouraging
Seems like we have alot of post of sisters who are scared so I thought maybe telling my story might encourage some. Spring of 2009 felt a spot that wasn't a lump more like a thick spot. forgot about it until October and then I had a swollen lymph node in my right armpit. Dr. said it was the size of a golfball! Took me a…

maybe this should be two seperate posts..
First, I would like to apologize for making you all worry and wonder if I'm ok. Please be assured that Lisa (my BFF) will post for me if anything is really wrong. I've just been swamped with a volunteer job at my daughter's school. They do an annual crab feed and I volunteered to be lead cashier. Little did I know that job…

Wifes Surgery just finished but question about lymph nodes, PLEASE HELP !!
My wife had a bilateral mastectomy today and just came out of surgery, during the surgery they did a sentinal node mapping and biopsy. The surgon said two nodes showed positive so they took all of them out of her arm. My concern is that she had chemo BEFORE surgery so obviously it didn't kill everything. Will she have to…

My saga continues...
Have had the sorest right side, had acupuncture on Tuesday, helped for a bit. Woke up Wednesday, my whole right hipside hurt again, but overall felt better. Saw onco today, told him I had a sinus infection, and maybe a bladder or kidney? He knew something was up as I was running a fever which I didn't even know until they…

A Big Shout Out of Thanks to my Beloved Pinks!!!
Just received my care package and I cannot begin to tell you how your thoughtful and loving gifts lifted my heart. I love them all: the hand crocheted footsies (and they fit like a glove), the beautiful knit caps, the lovely pink leather bag (perfect for work and toting to the hospital), the book (you know I love to read),…

Wifes Surgery Tomorrow, not sure what to expect
My wife will be having a bi-lateral mastectomy with tissue expanders put in tomorrow. The Surgical Onc briefed us very briefly on the proceedures. I have a few questions that I would rather have answered by someone who has been through this rather than her doctor so here it goes. I realized like chemo, everyone handles…

Good news and not so bad news ;-)
Apparently my insurance company will approve afinitor, but only if I am on aromasin and not femara. Since femara and aromasin are both aromatase inhibitors and very similar, I don't have a strong opinion one way or another. So, the great news is that I think approval for afinitor is pending. However, I would be lying if I…

Anyone on Xeloda
I haven't been on here in awhile. In 2008 I had a mastectomy for invasive lobular CA, but there was also a few DCIS sprinkled around for good measure. Had chemo, radiation, hysterectomy because I'm BRCA2 positive, and finally a prophylactic mastectomy and reconstruction. Great until this Jan. and now have metastatic BC,…

beyond scared and needing support please
Hi everyone- I have never posted anything like this on a board like this, but during my research you have all seemed to be so caring and comforting. My problem started about a year ago- I know that's a long time to go unchecked- but I didn't have the health insurance to do anything about it. I started to notice an abnormal…

3 months since chemo ended, now I have SCC
I am new to this site, don't know how I missed it seven months ago when I was diagnosed with bilateral IDC. I found it a few days ago while researching SCC, which I have now been diagnosed with, just three short months after my last round of chemo. I had no idea, which makes me so mad at myself, that I could get another…

Triple Negative Breast cancer
As I was reading through posts, it seems that I find that most, if not all, triple negative breast cancer patients have had a masectomy. I was wondering why as this is what I have and so far, none of my doctors have suggested this!

Anyone on Arimidex for more than 5 years?
I've been on this drug for 4 years. My oncologist said she may recommend I stay on longer because recent info shows that it can continue to prevent recurrence in early stage cancer. Anyone else told this? Roseann

Questions about cytoxan/taxotere side effects
I just recently had my second rebound of cytoxan/taxotere. I was pretty out of it with my first round. This One seems to have gone better - fewer nerves, I think. However, I am having some pretty major hot flashes. Normal??? I'm also having a hard time finding anything to drink that tastes good. I'm month a big sweet…
