Being who I am, I broke down a bit, left work for the afternoon because I couldn't sit there sniffling and…

Biopsy needed with recurrent breast cancer
I was "fortunate" in that, because it had been so long since my breast cancer, we did a biopsy to both confirm diagnosis and to see what we were dealing with. My original tumor was ER and PR positive. My metastasis was ER + but PR negative. It is fairly common for breast cancer to change over time. Studies are beginning to…

Finger and Nail pain
Howdy folks, I'm not even certain if I've ever started a thread here; I mostly just lurk and gather info for my wife. Some background info: my wife was diagnosed with Stage IIA IDC the day after her 37th birthday. The day of her 9th Taxol infusion, the Oncologist commented that she'll probably keep her nails...we hadn't…

three smooth edged masses
I would appreciate any advice from anyone on this site. I am coming from the colorectal site as I have been through colorectal cancer. I have three smooth edged masses in my left breast which are being watched but not biopsied as the docs are afraid to do a biopsy as I have bleeding issues also. The masses have increased…

With all the hope, prayers and positive thinking, the news is really bad
My husband and I went to my med. onc. office yesterday and she gave us the really bad news. Bone scan, CT and MRI all show "abnormalities in T12 and L1 strongly suggestive of bony metastasis" as well as "numerous metastatic foci of the central skeleton including the entire thoracolumbar spine, sacrum and pelvis." My…

I have an appointment to see the doctor but I haven't told anyone about it because I don't want my family to be freaking out as well...I pray that it's nothing but Breast…

Just a friendly reminder.....really.
I want to start off with extending a welcome to the newbies and conveying my condolences that we had to meet this way. I have found this to be an excellent source of information and emotional support. That being said, I feel a need to remind everyone that whatever you post can be read by anyone on the Internet. It is not…

Core Biopsy Update
Ouch! Had two core biopsies yesterday and I have stabbing pain. Tylenol is not cutting it. One of the biopsies was on a cystic tumor and the doctor basically sucked all the fluid out. The one done in my pectoral muscle doesn't really bother me. I thought it would be the other way around. I hope I can put a bra on tomorrow…

Arimidex vs. tamoxifen
Hi all. I posted about a week ago the concerns about quality of life on Arimidex. I went to my oncologist today and he took me off of it stating that he's had 'a lot of complaints about the side effects being worse than the disease itself'. He's put me on Tamoxifen starting today. Can anyone tell me their experiences with…

4 am - Very Scary
4 am is when I wake up with white hot fear. I get up and watch the sky,the rain, the fog, the snow. I ask God to remove the fear from my heart and, after a bout 1/2 hour, it begins to go away. That 1/2 hour seems like an eternity. This is usually the time I get answers to problems or things I can't sort out. But it's hard…

Appointment with oncologist today
I have a 3 p.m. (Phoenix time) appointment with my med. onc. She will have the results of my bone scan, CT, 3-D imaging and MRI of my lumbar and thoracic spine. My husband is going with me.
