insomnia
I can't stand this. I'm awake all day, I am so tired at night that I feel like I'm gonna fall asleep in my chair, and then I go to bed and I toss & turn. I've tried Melatonin, cuz it's non-narcotic, but I break out in a rash. If I take anything stronger, I sleep for 13 hours unless my husband wakes me up, but then I'm…

just wanna give up
I can't do this anymore. My husband **** cuz I don't go to the grocery store, I can't be that far from a bathroom that long. The house is clean...I do a little at a time, but God it takes more energy than it used to. Laundry kicks my ****. I have severe insomnia and then when I do fall asleep he wakes me to ask if I…

Radiation Burns where the sun don't shine - ever
Hi All. I am post-treatment almost two weeks now and am having issues with radiation burns between my butt cheeks, where my legs meet my torso, and inflammation/breakdown of tissue in my vaginal area. My dr. prescribed lidocaine cream to numb the area and silvadene cream to keep the wounds clean. Anybody else have any…

2 months out
I am two months out from treatments. Doing good. My energy level is still to be desired. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 anal cancer. I went through 2 rounds of chemo (mitomicin and 5FU) and 6 weeks of radiation. I went through the side effects of mouth sores (severe), constipation, diarrhea, nausea, burn from the radiation,…

Is this normal now?
After reading many of the discuss boards for anal cancer survivors I feel "normal" now. I have had episodes of "was it really worth it to survive if I have to live like this". And after reading many of your stories I now see that I am not alone. I chose to wean myself off of the pain meds as quick as possible so that I did…

vaginal staph
I've been complaining to a handful of different doctors now (gyn, pcp, onco, rad, urology) about this green and pee-looking discharge from the vaginal area. I finally was able to "collect" some of each of these discharges (gross!!!), and took them to my pcp. She's been "lab analyzing" them both for a week now and initial…

2 months post treatment
I am now 2 months post treatment and feel like I'm healing pretty well and quickly. I suffer from a feeling of dryness both in my anal area and my vaginal area. Sometimes this feeling will wake me up and I have to go put aloe cream on both areas just to get comfortable. I've been lax in using my dialator, and need to pay…

Still a little low on energy but can do all that I did before. Even my stool is under control which makes me, needless to say, very happy. Skin all healed. Menopause…

My wife was diagnosed with T3 N1 rectal cancer at Shands. Luckily after dealing with a few doctors in our town and months of testing without results we were able to go to…
