Is anybody in remission taking Tamoxifen as a maintenance drug?
I was diagnosed in December 2011 with stage 4 primary peritoneal. I had a 5 1/2 hour surgery to remove the disease. They were able to get all but 10%. I have had 9 chemo treatments Carboplatins and Taxol. As of August 2012 I am in remission. My CA 125 test at my 8th chemo was 55 which I started out with them being 1500. I…

Hope every other cancer patient has a day as good as mine!
Just had to share my latest news because I'm still elated, hours later, & I think my news shows there's reason for hope. Today my doc told me that the benchmark CA 125 cancer marker is down from 803 a month ago to . . . (drum roll) 173!!! Still a long way from the normal healthy range of 1-30, but what a big improvement…

Six rounds of chemo after debulking found her in remission. Two and a half months ago her CA-125 went from 9.6 to over 1600 in less than 3 months and CAT scan…

Stage IV cancer. Unknown primary with extensive peritoneal implanting. Should we get TPN?
Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum. My friend was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in July. They think the primary may be gastric according the the cell block they got from taking cells from her ascites fluid. Her ascites subsided, but she now has a very palpable stomach mass and a malignant bowel obstruction. They think…

Just had my latest CA125 results which are quite pleasing. They have dropped again from 292 - 225. Not alot but it is going in the right direction. I have now had 3 Carboplatin and 3 Cisplatin so I am getting a 4 week chemo break. My body is exhausted. I wake up most mornings with nausea and if I cough then I retch and…

Stage IV Primary Peritoneal
I would just like some feedback on what some you other ladies might be going through at this point. My cancer is now in the liver and possibly the lungs. We are trying new chemo drugs, but the last 3 have failed. I am really having a hard time keeping the faith right now.
