Poor balance
I have just finished chemo, very happy about that. My problem now is my lack of balance. It doesn't help that I have an ankle injury, but I can't hardly walk a straight line, and I could fall over at any time! I am wondering how long it might take to kind of get back to normal? Also, I was in the grocery sore the other day…

Mixed response success stories?
I admit to being a little blue today. I made the mistake of Googling "mixed response chemo" I shouldn't have done that. I should have known better. The results reminded me of what I first encountered when I Googled "UPSC Stage 4B". So, of you ladies here, have you any success stories post mixed-response chemos?…

Seams in clothing are bothering abdominal skin
Ever since my hysterectomy (a year ago) and chemo (ended 6 months ago), the skin on my abdomen has been hypersensitive to the rubbing from seams in underpants, the back of the metal button in the waist of my jeans, and spots the seams on pant waists touch my skin directly. It's so annoying I actually started wearing…

Don't hate me but insurance companies aren't to blame.
Fighting any disease is expensive, with the new drugs costing $25,000 per treatment, it's simply not going to happen for most of us. I hate to say that we are denied treatment simply because it's too expensive, but that fact is, how best to spend insurance dollars? Do we help a few with whatever it costs, regardless of…

Long term neuropathy

Brachytherapy vs whole pelvic irradiation for Ia UPSC/clear cell with isolated tumor cells in node
So I went for a consult with radiation oncologist at the other major hospital in my city. Recap - FIGO Ia, 20% myometrial invasion, +LVSI, only two sentinel nodes taken, one had isolated tumor cells. Visual inspection was grossly normal, pelvic wash negative, omental biopsy negative. I'm struggling with whether or not to…

CT scan ... up and down.
I'm getting a little tired of the down part of this journey. It seems my results are great one month, concerning the next. This is a cut and paste from the other group I frequent ... sorry. A few edits, though. I'm also getting tired of radiologists. It really makes sense to have just one or two looking at patient scans…

It's just what WOULD happen!
A minor but poorly-timed indignity that some of you might be able to relate to. I have just completed 6 rounds of Carbo/Taxol/Herceptin. I am completely bald, with barely perceptible eyebrows, and I think no eyelashes. Despite having felt so sick during chemo, I actually GAINED a bit, just as my oncologist said I would,…

LadyMox – Possible Update
Like others, I've been worried that we hadn't heard from LadyMox for some time, even though she had logged onto the board in February, So I did a search this evening and sadly learned that a young woman name Tammy Mink (Tammy was LadyMox's first name) just passed away last week. From the location (Buffalo), her age (42)…

CT Scan
I have just finished my 6 rounds of chemo. I was stage 1A and grade 3 for clear cell. Had a CT Scan a few days ago. I have a couple of tiny lung spots but they are not new and not related to my uterine cancer. (Biopsy done) I had a CT right before the hysterectomy and now this one. Everything is now looking normal so I am…

For any of you who visit the other gyn cancer boards here on CSN, and I know some of you do, you would have met the incomparable Miss Loretta Marshall. She is truly one of the many angels who have graced this earth. Loretta is signing off, and I wanted to share her post with those who might not know her. I pray that…
