Recurrence
Ladies I received the news that my one solitary nodule that they took 1/2 my middle lobe out for was a recurrence of UPSC. So now I wait to see my oncologist this coming Thursday. I've been reading all the recurrence posts seeing what line of defense is used. Has anyone went on Social Security disability with this? I am…

6 Month CT Scan Results
Went for my first 6 month CT scan after frontline yesterday and got the dreaded call this morning - there is a 4 mm mass in my chest. Going for a PET scan next Wednesday, 12/14 to find out more. This is the pits but there is nothing I can do about it at this moment so I'll do my best to let my doctor worry about it while I…

vaginal mucositis Radiation postponed
Just me again, I was to complete my final brachy therapy which by the way has been the easiest process during this journey and was excited to put that behind me with only 3 chemos left (Maybe). Well, the doc was preparing me when she took a look see first and said I had vaginal mucosa on the one side of my vagina and…

Neuroendocrine Carcinoma - Help!
Hello, I had my post-op today and it wasn't pretty, but could have been worse. My cancer is mixed: 60% 'garden variety' endometrial cancer, and 40% neuroendocrine. The later is super worrisome. Per the onc, "we really don't know much about what works with this because we see it so infrequently. We treat it with cisplatin…

Fatigue
I had my 5th round of Carbo/Taxol about a week ago, the 2nd chemo since finishing radiation (28 external & 3 brachy). I am finally dealing with the fatigue that everyone has warned me about since beginning chemo. I went out on Saturday but since then have been more and more tired, to the point that I get winded walking…

Chemo and constipation
Hi everyone, New here and have been reading older posts. I start chemo on Monday and several have talked about constipation afterwards. I am still healing from my hysterectomy, so constipation at this time would be extremely uncomfortable Should I take the stool softener or dulcolax the morning of my chemo? I was given the…

Hi Everyone, I had a full hysterectomy on Oct. 31 after Biospy showed cancer in the uterus. During surgery, they also found cancer on one of my ovarise. My doctor stated she got out all the cancer she could see, but need to go through chemo to make sure it is not in any cells. She also stated the cancer i had was very…

Recurrence in the liver
Hi, I have not posted that often here but often check in and read a lot as this board is a wonderful source of encouragement and information. So in about a month it will be one year since the end of my treatment for stage IVB grade 3 USPC. Saw my gyn/oncologist for a three month check up at the beginning of November. The…

Newbie - lots of questions
I'm pretty wordy when typing - so I could type for an hour or more and go into great detail on so many things - but I'll save you from that and try to summarize. Had biopsy on 11/30. Dr. called on 12/2 to say it was cancer and would refer me to gyn/oncologist for CT scan and treatment. Gyn/onc called on 12/5 to schedule…

May drop Taxol from Carbo/Taxol combo starting #4
My medical oncologist finally opened up to me this past treatment #3 of 6. There has been this aurora of vagueness from my doctor about the side affects I have been experiencing to the point of frustration. I finally told her that the neuropathy in my fingers, feet, toes, and trunk neuropathy as well is more than I am…

My fsh has risen from 46 two years ago to 50 last year to 55 just this past November. I have a history of fibroids big time (and about 10 years ago had to had some…

WBC Count Low - Chemo Delayed
On my 1st chemo 3 weeks ago my WBC count was good so my dr did not give me the Neulasta Patch, however yesterday it was low so she is delaying chemo for 1 week and then also giving me the Neulasta Patch before I go home then. I asked her why I couldn't still get the chemo and the patch yesterday, she said I will be exposed…

An immunotherapy cautionary tale
I thought this was an interesting article, since immunotherapy is the "new" thing. It brings up many points that we should be asking our doctors about when immunotherapy is recommended. http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/immune-system-unleashed-by-cancer-therapies-can-attack-organs/ar-AAl72FJ?li=BBnbcA1

Rant of the day
Got up at 4:30 this morning for the drive to my Cancer Center. Long drive, icy roads. Lab work, visit with my oncologist, infusion room crowded and a long wait for the pharmacy to get my Keytruda ready. Back hurts because of my SI joint. So. I am already tired and a liitle grumpy. The phone rings and it is a women from the…

Re: Second Update on Reoccurrence
Hi Ladies: I saw my oncologist this morning. Rather than trying chemo right now, my oncologist recommended he wants me to take medication called Tamoxifen. It is also used to help with breast cancer as well and is used to treat uterine or endometrial cancer which I have. Anyway, he said the medication works for 1 out of 3…

Chemo and Blood Clot
Anyone here ever get a blood clot during chemo. I did and I'm not even finished with round 2. I had no idea blood clots could be a side affect. The ironic thing is I went ER for intestinal issues. Kudos to the ER Dr. Anyway, I now need 2 injections of blood thinners a day through chemo.
