Mom's recent Grade 3 diagnosis- is it UPSC? Confused
My Mom was diagnosed a few weeks ago with grade 3 endometrial cancer. She didn't find out the best way- the doctor hadn't read her notes properly before her appointment, and opened the results up in front of her. She read it off the screen before he did. She remembers reading 'Endometrial Cancer, Grade 3, Serous' and they…

Stage 1 well-differentiated adenocarcinoma
Has anyone out there had a recurrence of this type of cancer? I had a complete hysterectomy in February. My surgeon was exhausted by the time my turn came up on the day of surgery. I asked her if she was too tired and would like to reschedule because she looked really bad. She declined and proceeded through. Then she left…

Worried about my daughter
Not particularly worried about cancer (endometrial tissue was fine), but it's still girl parts, so I'm going to vent here. My daughter is 39 and had a uterine ablation on the 6th because of excessive almost daily bleeding. She also has pretty significant cramping and has all the hormonal pms stuff. The hope was that the…

What type specialist would you recommend????
As posted a week ago, had my 6-month check with oncologist and all went great. Unfortunately I've not been able to keep my lower back pain at a good level, so he requested an MRI. Results of MRI -- moderate disk protrusion on L5 vertebra, appearing to compress S1 nerve root. Basically what this is saying, my lowest…

Trial?
Has anyone been hearing about the "exciting" new drug going into trials at M.D>Anderson? Every one here is buzzing about something called AV-203. Seems like it is for solid tumors, but I'm not smart enough to make heads or tails about. Maybe some of you smarter ones can check it out. Best, debrajo

Got good news today
It has been four weeks since my last lab test, and seven weeks since my last chemo. My CA-125 went from 60 to only 79. That is a much smaller increase than when I ended my second round of chemo. I was very happy. I will start on homone therapy now. I will start on aromasin which is a newer aromatase inhibitor. It is like…

Has Anyone Tried Fra-infrared Saunas?
With high ferritin levels since my second transfusion eight months ago, I keep reading that saunas are really good for cancer patients (heating the body up helps to not only detoxify but to antagonize cancer cells); I read that infrared saunas are perhaps the best. Even if they're beneficial for us, how often do we have to…

Study of the EFFECTIVENESS of chemo versus radiation for Uterine Carcinosarcoma
We were told by several oncologists that having carcinosarcoma (in this case MMMT) of the uterine, we would have to have radiation as well as chemo. This was the established protocol. Chemo for MMMT
Hi all, I was DX with MMMT/Carcinosarcoma 3C1 after hysterectomy on April 30, 2012. My next chemo was July 5th when we tried the 24 hr infusion of watered…

Almost there...
I only have two more external radiations left. My radiologist then wants to "spot-weld" the two lymph nodes that did show a bit of uptake. Finally I have two brachey treatments and I am DONE! I cannot wait. Although extended-field radiation has not been easy, I do feel like it is my best chance for a cure. I just wanted to…

Good News
Diagnosed with UPSC 3-C in Sept. 2010. Jan. 2012 PET scan showed mets to both lungs. Surgically removed nodule in left lung with clear margins. Just finished 6 rounds of Carbo/Gemzar. Pet scan showed remaining two nodules in right lung greatly diminished in size and no longer "light up." Nothing anywhere else. So I'm…

As I mentioned before, my daughter was dx in 11/2011 with ALL. Horrible journey with chemo and since we do not do blood transfusions the Doctors claim that it will be very challenging since her case is bloodless even though we are in a hospital that has several bloodless programs. "Anyway, If anyone knows what we can use…
