change synthroid - not good
New here. I am a 16 year cancer survivor. My medicine has always come from one place and I have always taken it the same, Until. About a year ago I began to feel bad: aching bones, low energy, sinus infection, whole body inflamation. Found a lump, ended up having an hysterectomy - not cancerous. Spring came, I felt a…

What's Next?
I went to the Dr. today and got pathology report stating I have papillary carcinoma follicular variant confined to thyroid. My actual dr wasnt there so I dont know what is next for me. During surgery I had JUST my isthmus removed-not my right or left lobe. Since on the report it says its confined does that mean I will not…

Translation?
I go back to my dr. on Jan. 4th. I was looking at my pathology report online. Too many medical terms that apparently change meaning when followed or are following another term. I get that the two lymph nodes (which I don't recall them telling me they removed) are negative for cancer. But what does the rest of it mean? (A)…

I was always a little tired but this is…

ENT or Endocrine Surgeon
I was recently diagnosed with papillary cancer a few months ago. My nodule is 1.3 cm and was told I should have a TT. I'd rather take the whole thing out than chance a second surgery. I'm trying to decide if I should proceed with an ENT who specializes in Head/Neck tumors/disease or go with an Endocrine Surgeon. Have meet…

I'm back after TT
I had my TT on December 9th. My incision is just beautiful. MD Anderson is amazing. I went in thinking they were going to just take the right side (the one with the 3.3cm nodule) since it had caused some damage to my right vocal chord. The dr. didn't want to risk damage to the left if that nodule was fine. However, I woke…

Thyrogen shortage???
I had my TT in August of 2010. My Dr. wanted to administer a thyrogen injection prior to my 1 year blood tests for recurrent cancer (TG tests). He has not been able to get the thyrogen hormone shots. Now the company is saying that it might not be available until end of January or February. My Dr. didn't want to wait any…

Is it ok to take cytomel long term?
Hello~ I had a TT and I131 treatment a year ago. Had to go off synthroid in order to have the year out scan done. After it was finished, my doctor put me on cytomel (25 mg) and synthroid (125mg). After some time I felt really good (like I use to before I had a TT). My doctor refuses to refill the cytomel even though I told…

side effects of the no iodine diet
I was supposed to have the injections in August 2011, but the supply was low and had to be re-scheduled. When i started the diet, after a week my blood pressure went very low. Called the Endo. dr and asked if I should still take my blood pressure medicine with my bp that low. He said yes. Now I am scheduled for the shots…

Pap thyca in a lymph node in the breast?
I am 18 months out from TT/RAI. I had + nodes that were removed in TT. Last January, (at my 6 months testing) they found a + node that they called a mutation. They were hoping to get it with my tracer dose of RAI at the one year mark. It didn't respond, so I have a consultation with a surgeon along with my next batch of…

Recently I had a ultrasound which showed small growth on one side. 7mm by 3mm. About two weeks after the scan I began feeling sick. I have been sick for five days…
