Good News
The adrenalectomy went well. I got home yesterday. I had some BP issues after the surgery so they kept me one extra day. My BP went up and wouldn't come down. I will get the pathology report next Tuesday. This is good news regardless of what is in the report. It means I'm NED. I've been trying to monitor my thinking and…

I'm looking up everything possible to fight RCC. I picked up a Nutra Nija so I could get him to eat blueberries and a bunch of other cancer fighting foods . I'm buying books on meditation and the power of positive thought. We'll apparently my husband has his own views on fighting this thing. He's looking at Honda…

US and Blood work... Enough for a follow-up appt?
Hey, guys, In the interest of not repeating myself too much, because I know I have covered this ground before, I'll make this quick. I scheduled my follow up with the urologist/surgeon for March 16. This is my 4 month follow up after seeing him in November after the surgery. He ordered an abdominal ultrasound and full…

Finally back with an update
Hello all. I have been MIA for a bit. Had a slow healing keyhole wound which became infected. Then developed some extensive pain in the area of that infection. After getting out of my car and feeling a terrible RIPPING sensation in that area and extensive pain for many hours, it was determined to be adhesions. Now, about…

First meeting with Dr Voss
We had our first appointment today with our new oncologist, Dr Voss. He spent a good amount of time with us explaining where we go from here (4 week post radical nephrectomy) and answering our questions. He explained the stages of cancer and what made my husband's tumor stage 4. John's tumor was 14cm and went into his…

Ferry to NYC
At the suggestion of someone here on the broad, my husband and I took a ferry to NYC and walked up 1st Avenue to Dr Russo's office. It was actually a very nice way into the city. We boarded the ferry in Atlantic Highlands, NJ and got off the ferry on 35st. It's a bit of a walk but the blocks are short. This would also work…

Two years since my Met was removed
It was 104 weeks ago today that I went into surgery to remove a 1.5 cm tumor from my lung. At the time, it was not clear if it was a new tumor or a met from the RCC; the biopsy proved it to be a met. Lucky for me, it was a solitary met. I have had no other treatment...and as of today, am two years NED. My Oncologist (Hans…

Almost 5 years kidney cancer
Hello. I am coming up on my 5 year scans for RCC Chromophobe. At my 4 year my doctor said next year is the year if everything is good at the 5 year scans you are done. Is this right?? I have read so many stories of RCC Chromophobe coming back. I know it is not the norm but it happens. Does this seem right to all of you?
