New card-carrying member
I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 43-year-old postop day four now out from a 15% partial nephrectomy for a 12-mm, T1a, Fuhrman grade 2 clear cell renal cell carcinoma. Like many of you, I ended up here completely by blind luck. Less than a month ago, I had some weird abdominal pain going on, classic for gallbladder…

I cant believe it has been three months since surgery! I am totally back to normal now. Can eat, drink, work out, and function fine. This day seemed so far away after surgery. EXERCISE
My Wife has just drawn my attention to this fascinating item in the NY Times: http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/04/11/how-exercise-can-prime-the-brain-for-addiction/ Any number of interesting lines of enquiry are prompted, many reflected in the responses quoted after it from readers, some of whom are appropriately…

RCC - The sneaky disease
It's no wonder that the problems in dealing with RCC seem so intractable, when you read information like that in the article I've copied below. Maybe a silly question...
Here's what might sound like a silly question. If having elevated BP is a sign that Sutent is working, then if you take more BP medicine and lower your pressure, are you counteracting the Sutent?

Gerald White - "Three Months to Life" MAARS CD
Just received Gerald White's book (signed with a nice little note) and MAARS CD, and I enthusiastically delivered it to my husband who was watching television Can't say he shared my initial enthusiasm as The Masters was on. Nutrition after nephrectomy
After having a right, radical nephrectomy on 3/12/12, my doctor has stressed that I need to be very aware of optimal solitary kidney health. All I have been told is to avoid contact sports, tea, spinach, nuts, chocolate and all colas. This list seemed very vague. Any more specific resources, recommendations regarding…

Dumb "research" ?
The fact that an institution is world-renowned as a treatment centre is no guarantee that research emanating from that source is bound to be irreproachable. If you have a brain the same size as a gnat's or venture into areas you know little about and don't try to find out about that terrain, or, more frequently, you have…
