For the revision, they recut the area around it and the edge of the stoma as well.(do not…

CPT-11
Question: I am getting ready to start 5FU, CPT-11 and Avastin. I have heard that diarrhea is a side effect of CPT-11? I was wondering what is the best thing to take for it? Also does the CPT-11 and Avastin seem to cause more people to have issues with throwing up? I had 12 treatments with 5FU (6 with 5FU and oxciliplatin…

weird lumps post chemo
What Gail posted earlier about her daughter got me to thinking about the post-cancer lumps I have on both of my forearms. The onc said those type of lymphedema are usually seen only on post-breast cancer patients, but they did an u/s just to err on the safe side. Does anyone else have them? They only bother me--swell--when…

Cousin with stage 4, Help Please
HI, I used to post on the Lymphoma board but have never posted here. I am a 2 time NHL and 2 time BC survivor but really could use your help here. Have a cousin through marriage with stage 4 colon cancer. It was never found on colonoscopy, grew on outside of colon, very invasive and aggressive. They have given him 6 months…

Have you ever heard of this kind of lump?
Hi everyone...I have a question if anyone has heard of this. It's not colorectal related but sending a little scare my way still. My 9 year old daughter came to me tonight almost tearful. She said for a couple of days she has had a off and on pain in her cheek when she talks, eats, lays on that side but forgot to mention…

CEA going up
My CEA is going up ON chemo. By way of background, I had colon resection in mid May revealing IIIB colon cancer. (colonoscopy in August, 2008 cleared several polyps, and this cancer came on quickly and metastasized in short order.) I began oxaliplatin and capecitabine in early June. CT's chest and abdomen were negative. My…

Hip pain
Hi all, I'm hoping that someone can answer this question for us. Rick is experiencing pain in his left hip, it hurts when he gets up out of a chair and especially when he lies on his side in bed. Can this be a normal side effect of either Avastin or the Neulasta shot? Thanks, Cyn

****'s Birthday!
Hi Everyone, Today is ****'s 54th birthday, his 3rd birthday since his stage 3c diagnosis. We can't believe he has been in this so long (and we know many of you have been in it longer) and we are tired but we are grateful. As you know, we have had many, many hard days and weeks. 57 or so rounds of chemo for **** and 2…

What a week!
PET/CT on Monday, and labs. INR was too high, so no Coumadin for 2 days. Saw my regular medical onc and had labs again Wednesday morning. INR had come down. CEA dropped back to a flat 4! Good news on the PET/CT! I have one node in my chest and 3 in the abdomin. They are all still about the same size, give or take 1/10 of a…

Avastin bad experience
My PET scan and CT scan showed spots on my liver so dr. suggested changing from Folfox to Folfiri with Avastin. We both read, discussed and knew the possibile side effects. I though all was fine until a week after treatment when I started having back pain, but passed it off as strained muscle after moving the couch.…

Short Term Memory
Oh my goodness, I've been having problems with remembering the simplest things since diagnosis. Sitting here tonight I'm thinking that there is something that needs to be done upstairs, so there is where I'd be heading and then go up there and can't remember the reason I'd even go up there for. Looking around upstairs,…
