fluid build up in the pelvic area
Hi I just got back my CT and it doesn't look too good. I've been in the fight for 3 years but now the CT shows "perihepatic, perisplenic, and pelvic ascites with increased omental nodularity". And we're supposed to understand this?? I did some research and it sounds like fluid around the site of the original tumor that was…

My CEA level is normal and my CT Scan will be in two weeks. If all is good, then I will not need another scan until after the new year. My fingers, toes and crossed!…

Fit to be tied!
Hi Everyone - Well we got through the first Onocological appointment. Staged Denny at iiB and offered him a round of Chemo - FOLFIRI or he has the options of CAPECITABINE - ORAL (Xeloda). Onc said there is no evidence that Chemo helps at all for Stage ii and at most IF it did possibly could be between 5-10% chance on…

Well, I haven't been on here in a while, but I do check in from time to time. Monday he had a PET scan and today we got the…

They stopped my Chemo
I made it to number 8 of 12 and my onc told me that because of all the side effects I'm having that it's not worth going on. I go in today because I still have a blood clot from my first port that goes from my jugular to my arm pit. They scanned it a few days ago and it is the same from the July scan, not sure what they do…

Hi everybody! Checked in last night but you guys must have been talking up a storm to make the site crash! Since I last posted, have seen the surgeon (he wasn't very excited about the condition of the mass, said it was typical. What does that mean?) Wonderful things YOU say to cancer survivors (warriors)....
I'm taking from LizzyDavis on the 'stupid things' thread... I usually open with "Well, I'm here to answer questions, give out hugs, listen to ranting, and just generally be here for whatever makes this easier for you." Hugs, Kathi

clinical trial
HI, I just had a CT after 4 months and it showed the small tumor in my RT lung is slightly larger but what concerned the doc was that I had inflammation and fluid in the area behind the original tumor spot in the fatty connective tissue. I had rectal cancer just at the sigmoid. Doc believes it's disease progression. Since…

SUGAR GOOD OR BAD?????
I am having a big debate with my girlfriend about this issue. She thinks it don't matter how much sugar I eat as far as effecting my cancer. I, on the other hand, feel like this is a fuel for the fire. Cancer thrives on sugar from what I have read. I don't want to feed the POS that is making my life difficult. Who is…

Second opinion from Emory
So as some of you know I decided to get a second opinion at Emory's Winchip Cancer Center in Ga. The Oncologist is specialized in GI Cancers. He basically said the same thing my Dr. said. I am not operable, that the liver tumors are too wide spread, and thinks I should stay on Folfox until it stops working. He added that…
