My Dad just diagnosed - HELP
My dad just found out tonight that he has colorectal cancer. He had a colonoscopy on Monday and just got the results and hour ago. He is terrified, my mom is beside herself and I am too scared to even know what to write. The Dr told him that the tumor was "significant" and that it is near the rectal wall. The Dr also said…

No energy. How do I go on?
My husband died of cancer January 18, 2003. My only child, 26 years old, son has leukemia. I am 47 with colon cancer. I had sugery last March with follow-up chemo therapy. I was coping pretty well until the death of my only support, my husband. He was diagnosed just a couple of months ago with prostate cancer but it had…

Chemo Brain
Serious concerns. I went through all the Stage III stuff including the chemo treatments and the chemo and radiation at the same time. I swear I am having more problems with my short-term memory. I have seen little about the problem. Obviously other problems also occur like the constant stomach problems and the nerve damage…

Fear/Info on Recurrence - Stage III
I was diagnosed with Stage III colorectal cancer in 11/01 and have been through a year of treatment. (Adjuvant chemo/radiation, surgery, and chemo). I completed the follow-up chemo (5fu, cpt-11, LV) in November 2002 and was diagnosed "clean" with the follow-up colonoscopy. Despite the "clean" diagnosis, I occasionally find…

small bowel adenocarcinoma
In 1999 I was diagnosed with jejunal adenocarcimoma. In Oct, I had a bowel resection, followed up with 7 weeks of radiation with a 24 hr continous infusion of 5FU, then 6 months of chemo (5fu,lv and cpt 11). CTs have been clear for the past 3 years. Then 2 weeks ago, Jan. 2003, I had an enlarge lymph node in my neck…

Chemo and radiation
Hi...my husband has just been diagnosed with colorectal cancer which has spread into the prostate. Quite advanced. They are going to start next week to give him five weeks of combined chemo and radiation, and then they hope it will have shrunk enough to be operable. I read awful things about the effect these two together…

OK, now what?
My colon cancer has recurred at the site where the colon was sewn together. My abdomen is full of tumor which is inoperable. I am told that I "may" have nine months. Went to the University of Virginia - they will treat with Oxaliplatin as a first line therapy. They said I may have a year with treatment. Georgetown…

SURGERY at 85
My Dad is 85 with tumor (stage 4) in his transverse colon. He has always been in great health. No problems or hereditary problems. Doctors don't seem to want to operate and point him to chemo. We have seen other 8X year olds get operated on. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience in this?? Thanks
