Extreme swelling 8 weeks post surgical
Over the past 5 or 6 days both breasts have become swollen and painful. I had a double mastectomy in September with the placement of expanders. Because I am not compltely healed yet I still haven't had any fills. I am now in as much pain as I was 2 weeks after. Can anyone offer some words of advice? Thanks

It' snowing- yuck
It snowed yesterday, but didn't stick. However, woke up to white lawn, gone now. But it's snowing again. Makes me feel kind of edgy. Cabin fever can't start this early! I think about those in Sandy's wake and worry about the cold, and the forecasted storm. Sue

Pins and needles
My daughter moved to Canada yesterday - long story- I don't think everything was well planned and I got a call last night that there was trouble at the border, and then her phone died. Frantically, calling texting emailing face booking. Apparently, she FB'd after I went to bed, which was very late. Now just on pins and…

OT - time change
I like the extra hour to sleep in without actually losing the hour, but the rest of the day just drags, and it's dark so early! I can't remember - does every state change? How do you do with time change? I hate losing the hour in the Spring! Sue

Ladies with nails?
I have a question. Prior to cancer, I had acrylic overlay on my nails. I can grow long nails, but they break one by one. I do a lot of outdoor stuff, not to mention cleaning, and the overlay kept them nice. Does anyone out there still have "fake" nails? I want to get them again, but I am paranoid about anything that could…

Hi I was diagnosis for the second time in 10 years with Breast Cancer. The first time was a lumpectomy followed by Chemo and radiation. All was well until my mamo in august 2012. I was very indecisive regarding the type of surgery I should have. Lumpectomy or Masectomy. I also took the BRACA test and that came back…

I have already had 5 rounds chemo with the last being switched to Taxotere and Herceptin. The pain has been almost unbearable. For 48 hours the pain was true agony and the next 24 just agony. Pain meds barely touched it. It is eased up now, but do not want to go through the agony again, any suggestions ?

OT What are your hobbies? Your stress relievers?
I thought it would be fun to share our interests. My passion is native gardening. I am like the kid who says, "outside" all of the time, because that is where I want to be. I love native gardening because the native plants are usually covered with butterflies and bees and other beneficial insects. And it just makes me…

Well, I thought I was in the clear regarding my PET scan---sigh :(
Saw my oncologist Tuesday. She told me my PET scan showed no evidence of disease in any organs or even bone (not even where the previous met was seen in T-12)! Yippee! BUT, she did say one lymph node in the affected side did show uptake and was enlarged. However, she said she was 99% sure it was probably swelling left over…

Surgery today went well/laugh of the day
Dr cleared out lots more fluid, irrigated both areas from the lumpectomy, and has me on antibiotics. She left 2 drains, and will see me again on Monday. But who am I, if not one to find humor in everything? I mentioned today's surgery on another group in which I participate, and included the comment about being told I'd…

Is that what it is called? Anyway I got the tatoo's and markers but the marker washed off already. I swear, I DID NOT RUB! Now they said I have to go to a pretend session and get a mammogram at the same time. Then I am supposed to start the radiation the day after if all is well. Did anyone else have this? Or is it because…

When asked what the problem was, the wife went into a tirade listing every problem they had ever had in the years they had been married. I AM BACK BYE BYE SANDY
Phew! It was scary and devastating. We lost all power, heat, phones, internet ... everything for 4 days. Hubby is still in NYC. He is so exhausted. Working 16 hour days. I hope he doesn't get so run down that he gets sick. I am so worried about him. With the short days upon us, I dreaded seeing the clock tick away. 5:30…
