My oncologist said the cancer grew (went from smaller lump to entire breast) and 16 nodes removed all cancerous(originally 2 were shown…

Oncologist Appointment
is tomorrow. This is the first one since learning about the newest growth in my lungs (while in the hospital). She did want to have the thoracic surgeon's input on this so I am hoping she got his report. Kinda scared. Yet feeling confident that these 2 doctors will know what to do and when to do it. Crap ... I wish this…

Stupid question at a company picnic
We had so much KFC fried chicken left after the event that I told them to start taking it home. My beloved site supervisor picked up the tongs and the plastic bags and starting serving it out to each person that wanted some to take home. I told him to get me 2 pieces too. He said "which kind do you want? One breast or…

diagnosed with the big "C"
Hi. I am new to this world of breast cancer. I am 34 years old. I found my lump myself and already had a yearly exam with my gyno scheduled. When I asked at my appointment he referred me to a cancer surgeon. She took and ultrasound in the office and said she didn't believe it was cancer. I had surgery to remove the lump…

Just checking in. Also survivors guilt.
It's probably been a while. No I have not been sick. The garden has an abundance of food at present and I have been home canning. It is an old art but does not rely on electricity as a freezer does. Since cancer I am no longer the workaholic (at least away from home anyway) so home canning is a way to make up for the lost…

Lyrics - I'm gonna love you through it
I'm Gonna Love You Through It lyrics She dropped the phone and burst into tears The doctor just confirmed her fears Her husband held it in and held her tight Cancer don't discriminate or care if you're just 38 With three kids who need you in their lives He said, "I know that you're afraid and I am, too But you'll never be…

Marathon For The Cause
Hi Everyone, I did a 5K walk today at the Marathon for The Cause. It is held for the Susan Komen Foundation that serves Oregon and SW Washington. It was great fun especially since my daughter was with me and we were able to take my dog along as well. So far this has been my fastest 5K. We completed the course in just under…

I am so freakin done
I haven't posted in a while. But to recap, I had immediate reconsruction after my bilaral. Neither implant wanted to stay. My body, I guess, had had enough abuse and it did not tolerate intruders. The first one came out in May. I was still on chemo, and the hole still has not closed. 2nd one in July, skin is messed up. I…

Axillary Node Dissection
I'm pretty sure this has been discussed 100,000 times, but I have a question. I have about a 4 or 5 inch incision under my arm from the dissection of my lymph nodes. It has been a couple of weeks since the procedure and the incision still feels like the skin is pulling even though visibly it is not. It isn't red, and I…

Tamoxifen and Antidepressants
There are certain antidepressants that are not supposed to be taken with tamoxifen. Here is a list of what they are if you are interested. Paxil, Prozac and Wellbutrin are the ones to avoid if you are on tamoxifen. Always talk to your doctor if you have questions or are on tamox and any of those 3. Choosing among…

Depression, Loss of Appetite and Tamoxifan? Is there a link?
Hi, Ladies, It has been a while since I have been on the site. I started working this past week, which is tiring in itself, but I have had questions about Tamoxifan for a while. I asked my oncologist about the body pain, fatique, and weight loss. I feel horrible because she basically ignored what I was saying by singing the…

Just Diagnosed and Nervous
I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with DCIS..... I never felt a lump, and was sent for my first mammogram. Within 2 weeks, my world as I knew it has been tossed upside down and inside out. I went from a baseline Mammogram, to an ultra sound, followed by a Core Biopsy. a week later I get a call from my doctor stating that…

Antidepressants for fatigue?

Hi wonderful ladies!! I haven't posted in a while, but life has been a bit challenging lately. As y'all know, my vertebrae was fractured when I was t-boned by a semi truck that ran a red light back in May. Well, overtime my vertebrae has collapsed. It is over 50 percent collapsed and unfortunately is pinching my nerves, so…

Hey! Remember me?
I posted awhile ago about a lump I had an ultrasound on, and it came up as suspicious, but was having a hysterectomy August 1st...so it all went on hold. Well.....I had a bilateral mammogram and another ultrasound last Wednesday, and the radiologist believes it is now just a fibroadenoma. I am 37, so this makes me a little…
