I am experiencing very stiff/tight muscles for the last several years.  No matter what I do nothing helps.  Does anyone have the same issues?

Thanks

Dawn

Lost all flexibility in my hips

I finished chemo/radiation in 2018, and within 6 months my entire pelvis felt like it was frozen. I am unable to sit cross-legged and it is very difficult to raise out of a chair after a short time sitting. I attribute this to long-term radiation side effects. I feel like my joints/muscles have aged decades. What helps me is walking several miles followed by a lot of good stretching, especially the hip flexors. Yoga and Pilates also have the same impact.

    Thank you for your response.

Thank you for your response.  I'm 10 years post cancer and I'm feeling stiffer and stiffer everyday.

    yes. 4.5 years. i find

yes. 4.5 years. i find getting a massage every 2nd week using a balm made of cannabis infused coconut oil & hemp oil & shea butter helps. i have also just started gentle aqua exercise classes in a hot hydo pool twice a week and that has really helped which has made me start gentle yoga x1 weekly . also beach walks each day, still have pain and stiffness but it's less painful if i keep up the above. also take magnesium and tumeric supplements and spray magnesium oil on my lower back after i get out of the shower each day

    What about PT?

How about having a physical therapist try and break up some of the scar tissue? The therapist that worked on me and instructed me on pelvic floor exercises also used a tool on my hip to break up scar tissue. I truly think that’s why I don’t have as much stiffness in my hips. I still get stiffness but stretching, yoga and using the hip abductor weight machine helps now.

    Good luck and keep moving!

    Pelvis stiffness and pain

10 weeks out from chemo/radiation for anal cancer. Hard to find information from patients dealing with long term side effects on medical sites. Glad to find you folks and see I am not crazy with these symptoms. Thank you for input. Scott.
