Deescalation of RT Dose For HPV+ Head-Neck Cancer

I know that Sloan Kettering is currently investigating reducing RT Dose to 30 Gy for Select Human Papillomavirus Associated Oropharyngeal Carcinoma. Does anyone know which other cancer treatment centers are actively involved in research, trial, or treatment regarding DEESCALATION OF RT DOSE FOR HPV+ HEAD-NECK CANCER?

    Mayo clinic

In Rochester MN. they did have clinical trials in the past. 2 years ago I received Proton beam Rads 60gry to my right side (tonsil-HPV) only. stage 1 with one lymph node involvement. nearly 100% back to normal. slight dry mouth at night on right side where I was hit.

I thought I would ask because I keep reading recent research where they have been trying 30gry instead of 60gry. 3 weeks instead of 7. Maybe it would be a possibility? Thank you I will call Mayo in Rochester MN and ask. I'm asking myself where would I want to spend springtime, MD Anderson or the Mayo Clinic. Sloan is out because the accomodations are not affordable but Rochester seems reasonable and they take my insurance. And I can bring my dog for support. Sounds like I will need it.

Please check with the American cancer Society. They hooked me up with hotels in Rochester with reduced rates. some nights as low as $19.99 per night. It was great.Im sure they do this around the country.

    Thank you Skidog! I've been

Thank you Skidog! I've been reading your posts the past few weeks which have been very helpful. I will ask them about the reduced rates that would be great. I've been looking at AirBnB places that are nearby but they are much more.

Sounds like Mayo will be the best choice for me. Everybody has been very happy about the support they received there. Reading this forum the past week I realized how important that is.
