hello everyone,

just wanted to ask those of you that have gone through all the treatment for APL what your lasting effects were/are.

I myself have gone through all the treatment stages and will get my bone marrow biopsy to see if I’m in molecular remission this coming up week. Up until this past week i had been feeling good and with good energy, but now I feel exhausted and have a rash on my face and head. Not sure what to make of this, so any help or advice would be nice.

Thanks,

serg

I just joined this site...so I'm happy to see another APL'er on here.  Seems to be a rare thing.  I finished treatment last April...2017.  I was on Arsenic Trioxide and Atra.  How about you?

I have been in remission for a year, and still get tired after working, have nausea most days and get skin rashes a lot.  I feel like people expect me to be my old outgoing self, but that hasn't

happened yet.  It is hard for people to understand.  The rash could be a side effect, but make sure you tell your Dr.  They can usually fix those annoying side effects.  :)

Hello APLSurvivor2016,

yes glad to have another APLer on here, just read that only 100 or so cases of APL in the U.S. Every year (don’t quote me on that).  I also did arsenic and Atra, and finished up with Atra and daunorunicin about a month ago.

Congrats on your remission, I totally understand about what other expect from you post remission. I haven’t got my results yet from my bone marrow biopsy, but it seems like people already want me to be my old self. I understand the place they are coming from and that they mean well. So, I take it with a grain of salt and try to explain that I’ve changed and that it will take awhile to get back there if I even do.

Thank you for the reply and I‘m happy to have another APLer on here. Be well
